New dog peeing on the runner and licking everything ...?

Ok I have a few questions about my current dog.

1. He keeps peeing on the carpet despite the door to the back patio been open and every couple of hours I take out both dogs to build sure they go out.
2. He keeps licking every one adjectives the time its not a 'bad' thing just kinda wondering why. He dose it when ever we go to pat him.

3. Every in a minute and then when one of my family members call him to come inside he try’s to hide from us lies down and try’s to make him self kind of disappear. Dose this show he mite have been mistreated?

I was wondering whether anyone knew why he dose these things.
A little more about him 1.5 week ago I got Mr M from the 'make a contribution a way’s' he's 11 months old, and seems to be adjusting really economically he loves my other dog , he seems happy all the time ingestion well I swear he’s gained weight since we get him which is good coz he was kind of tiny. He sleeps surrounded by his little nest thing. He’s doing normal dog things like drinking my shoes and all kinda puppy things like that which is a good sign but
Will he grow out of these things? Is it basically him adjusting to new home?
Will he swot up that we aren’t going to hurt him?

Answers:    1. If the dog was an outside dog, he may have no theory that it isn't okay to pee on the carpet. All though you are taking him out often, you aren't staying out until he pees. The best way to fix this is to jump out with him every 5 to 10 minutes until he pees and then wait the two hours again.

2. Some dogs are basically lickers. If he is licking, say "No" calmly and pull your foot away. Wait a minute and try again, he should pick up that if he want's attention, he can't lick.

3. He might have be mistreated, but he also might be playing a game or not want to come in. Does he flinch when someone reaches down to pet him or freak out whether your feet get to close? Those are certain signs of being beat.

Since his is still young and within a new situation, this will probably be things he can grow out of as long as you keep being forgiving with him. If he was severely mistreated, he may always be a bit skittish, but it should get better with time.
