Original nickname for a German Sheperd pup?
I'm about to buy a pup and have been debating over an productive name without any luck,
Any ideas?
I close to Apple..unless you want a macho name..then you're on your own..

Answers: You should loaf till you get your puppy. He/she will give you ideas as to what to call upon her/him. She/he will respond to certain sound more favorably then others when you give the name the puppy trying out different names. Dogs usually respond well to sharp sounds contained by a name. Easier for them to distinguish between other more monotone sounds. They like one syllable names too, only just like they respond well to one syllable commands or even shorter sounds. German Shepherds are smart, respond in good health to training and lots of activity.
The name will come to you and your puppy and it will be a bonding moment for both of you. Don't worry whether it takes you a while to get a name.There are other nouns that will be important to communicate with your new friend while you are getting to know respectively other. Just a suggestion, you might want to start with a crate to relieve you teach your new friend to potty out side. I'm sure, even IF the puppy is suppose to be out side, it would be nice whether your new best friend knows how to behave inside. Remember it isn't the puppy's imperfection if it has an accident surrounded by the house ever! It is up to us to take our pets out so they can take care of such commerce. So it is always our fault when they are forced to relieve themselves in the house. Proper diapline and greatly of work on your part will make your best friend understand the rules. Good Luck

Jake for a boy possibly. All depends on the dogs personality. Tukie for a girl maybe. All depends on the dogs personality. Has to be a given name that rolls off your tongue easily and has a optimistic up beat feel to it so your best friend is always thrilled when he or she is being called.
