Question more or less my puppy...?
My puppy follows me around everywhere but I have a hard time trying to get her external and inside. If I go up to her, she will usually run away. So how can I stop her from running absent?? I look after her by myself and she barely comes in contact with other folks. Please help!! Does she hate me or something??
Thanks!
She think it's some great game! Try the reward system. When she does finally come to you, say 'good girl! and present her a treat. Never scold or yell in frustration, or she won't come at adjectives. It takes time and patience to train a pup, and lots of repetition. She also needs to be socialized or your going to enjoy one snippy pup on your hands.
Are you picking her up the right course? Picking them up the wrong way can hurt them.
You could put a collar and lead on her and lead her external.
This pup is how old? She should be socialised with people, places and things or she will grow up to be fearful and snappy. Isolating a pup does it no favors. She desires to be in contact with the world outside your front door.
Answers: Awww she is just a puppy ... I would speak try to socialise her more . ie maybe a puppy club or training classes they are good for socialising .with culture and dogs . I would also say that a great way to get her inside is to disregard her . IE : when she refuses to come in turn your back and hike in dont go and get her she think your playing she will learn that when you say inside you mean it .. Good luck hun X
How old is your puppy? If she's used to her collar and lead presently, the obvious answer is to take her outside on her front. Is she running away (from you) or is she just being inquisitive in the order of all the joys of 'outside'.
