What commotion do you do next to your dog or puppy when the weather is bleak?
If you have a dog or puppy that don't like to go external for a walk when the weather is bad what other activities can you do beside your dog to substitute the normal walk time?
you could get a good toy that he/she like ... my dogs get really energetic and they can spend all their dash trying to rip up a toy or if just tug on it a couple times with them they capture really into it.. you might have to try a few different types of toys before they like it though.. they might resembling to play tug-a-war or maybe they like toys with a squeaker contained by it!
I'm a dog trainer by trade, and I own to tell you every answer I have read has great merrit. Whatever make your dog keep interest & keeps him moving and exercising is great! They love most anything that involves one on one interaction, so do something that you enjoy as economically. Not all dogs (the little ones) can handle the cold, even though mine is 4.5 lbs, rain or shine she wishes to go with me for a walk. I am discreet to make sure she is dress appropriately and bring a blanket to wrap her up in within case she gets cold. She loves the rain and similar to a kid will jump into the puddles to spash, loves to swim too. Her favorite friend is a very large boxer :), possibly invite a friend over that has a socialized dog. Have fun!
receive a clean rag then throw it around and run beside the dog while its running after it.
when it is raining outside and my three dogs can't step for a walk I move stuff to make a nice big open place surrounded by my living room. and play with my doggies. you can also make up little things like dog treats clandestine in paper and hid them surrounded by that room and let your dogs look for them. it is fun!
Depends on the weather...if there's a snowstorm, the dogs can't wait to stir outside, because we throw snowballs for them to chase and catch. They can't get adequate of us throwing snowballs for them...it's actually a better workout than walking when they're running through deep snow. They also seem to love making snow angels-rolling around on their back in the snow and burrowing their heads under the snow creates sheer elation for them. There's no reason not to walk unless the weather poses a hazard (too cold or too icy), but in that are still fun things you can do in your own backyard to give them a workout and fun play time.
Run around the house or near the couch. Maybe lay a blanket down on the living room floor and roll around and stuff on that. Bring toys and move the food bowl and water bowl stale the the side ( away from the blanket at a safe distance so you dont accidently knock it over )
Have a puppy confrontation, playfully. Teach them tricks. Tug o' war. etc.
Some things you can do to substitute is to play tug of time of war or fetch (In a good area) or try running around, if they don't follow you, try carrying a treat. Good luck!
all right you could play with it or just run around in the house near it.
I still progress outside but with a rain jacket but whether not I would just play catch with the dog or puppy

If you have toys for the puppy play with him/her.
I do all alike activities, rain or shine. The dogs need to step outside whether it's sunny or snowing.
You can use a treadmill in lieu of a walk.

that's always fun.
Answers: We house trained our puppies when we were potty training them. We qualified them to play in the house because we have weather issues where we live. We skilled them to run around the house without knocking over furniture, or breaking things. We play ball and fetch, and winter sport we play with them outside. Andy has hallucination issues, so we play hide and seek with him every light of day. We hide, and he comes to find us, then we chase him all through the house, and we hide from view again, and then he finds us again, and we chase him until he gets tired of playing. This sounds like a foolish game, but he loves it, and that is what matters.
we lay on the couch and watch tv- mine will turn outside in any weather
For exercise throw a ball down the hall way and they will carry a lot of exercise chasing it.
