What do you contemplate just about smacking a dog on it's muzzle? Do you focus it's right or wrong?
Brad Pattsion thinks it's ok, as you will see on the utube video clip number six, but what do you think? Should you smack a dog on it's nose whether yes please explain if no please explain i would really like to see people's answers on this topic.
I feel this way something like it, some 70% of American parents feel it's fine to spank their children and will fight loudly for their right to do so, yet frequent of these people feel it's horrible to smack your dog on the nose. I meditate that if America thinks it's acceptable to hit our kids minus intereference from anyone else then we should be able to hit our dogs (I personally don't hit any one). Dogs should not be treated better than children in our society. That's just my opinion.
I muse a few people should bop Brad Pattsion (who is he anyway) on the nose a few times and see if he holds true to his evaluation about nose smacking being a correct thing after that. I bet he alpha rolls dogs as well.
All smacking a dog on the nose, or anwhere else, does is guide the dog their owner is not to be trusted. Dogs do what works for them and if they are praised and treated they will repeat the behaviour. They work for reward much the same as citizens do. I doubt many of us would go to work for someone 5 days a week, every week if we didn't find paid for it.
The old style physical punishment in dog training go out of vogue many years ago when a few enterprising trainers realised dogs work better and quicker for praise and reward. There still a few old diehard trainers around who haven't moved beside the times. These are the ones we should stay well away from. Punishment can make a soft natured dog shut down.
No training can develop with a dog who has shut down and if this type of aggessive training continues the dog will eventually develop a covering of learned helplessness, we can then be somewhat sure the dog's spirit has been broken. When this happen the old time bullying trainers arrogantly inform the owners that the dog is untrainable.
WRONG! that is the non grow thing to do. just put him in a privite room beside no toys. he would hate that if he was surrounded by trouble.
Not right at adjectives.. Why should you slap a dog on its nose? A reason could be so that they can associate the last demeanour they did with pain, right? A better way to fix a demeanour is a correction or just ignoring that behaviour.
Rewarding right behaviour is a much better an efficient way to tutor a dog. Violence, even a slap on the nose could start leading to anxiety problems.
it is wrong. any qualified trainer will tell you that correction through physical hostility is not that way to go. it is antiquated thinking. dogs are really sensitive, and you can end up cause more poor behavior.
I dont think its right to abusively slap your dog on his nose but I definetly dont care what those think about me disciplining my dog by lightly hitting my dog on his trunk to tell him that I dont want you doing this. Today people are always aphorism not to spank your dog(AND KIDS). Animals are being put higher than they should. Like I said I never will hit my dog for no Reason. Only if he is doing something he know not to do. My dogs LOVE me even if I hit them on the nose to correct them.
giving him a whack in the antenna can make him more agressive and bite so its best to hold his snout firmly when he is doing something wrong and say no over and over everytime he acts up.next to training and repeating the no along with scolding the dog will learn the rules. if he is attacking another dog or personage u can grab his neck and pull him put money on and if u have to calm him down to draw from him out of a frenzy then sometimes a whack on the nose will settle him down but mostly no hitting is the way dogs cram.
You should never, never hit your dog! These creatures have a lot of intelligence and sensitivity. All they want to do is please their masters. All I have to do beside my dog is say "noooo" in a soft voice and she whips her skipper around and looks at me. If you train them from the beginning, you would never need anything harsher.
Answers: I don't think smacking a dog on the trunk, or anywhere else for that matter, is a good form of training.
The best form of training is to constantly be around your dog and correct them when they do something you don't approve of. You can right a dog by telling them no, nudge them (like the Cesar Millan) or removing them from the situation.
Once they respect that you make the rules, they will understand what you want and don't want from them. Which contained by the end, will make a happy and well-trained dog. :)
Dogs "nose" is a very sensitive and important organ. Make your own conclusion.
Hitting any dog anywhere is counterproductive and cruel.
I don't infer it is right to physically abuse a dog at any time. If they misbehave there will be a reason for it, generally down to the owners not the dog. Also a dog has no memory so unless they are disciplined (by non physical methods) at the time of the incident they have no idea what they hold done.
I would NEVER hit my dog on the nose.
No explanation needed.
