What does it denote when your dog eat thier own poop?
Besides the fact he is a nasty little puppy.
He has hose, and he still has some food left in his bowl.
his poop contains all the food that ha ate before so he is re-eating his teatime
What people have already said here about 'something missing' surrounded by their diet I'd not disagree with and there may be something in this hypothesis. However, sometimes it does become a habit, and it's difficult to stop. Some of mine have done it, and others haven't, and they were simply all on the same food, so it isn't totally understood why this happen. There are things to add to their food which are supposed to stop it, or put them off doing this, but I've never had much nouns with that. It's more a question of getting out there and picking up earlier it happens!! And maybe trying another food?
I'm sure he's not a harsh little puppy btw!
PS A friend of mine, having had her adult Min.Schnauzer on medication from her vet to try to stop this, is in a minute resorting to getting a muzzle. Bit extreme to my mind, but ...
Answers: Well it have nothing whatsoever to do with worms but you need to maintain up a worming schedule in any case.
Most pups do grow out of the infatuation as they mature.

The best article to do is quick pick ups and if you see the pup going for it, a good loud Ah Ah should divert their attention to make a contribution you time to pick it up.
It could be learned from watching other dogs, or their mother licking it up to keep the den clean.
There are products you can try to achieve him to stop, like Deter or pineapple. Or, just pick it up before he can guzzle it!
My first dog would never eat her own-- only cat poop she found all over our courtyard from feral cats!
It could be that he is bored and wants more attention or he is lacking nutrients contained by his food.
I would play with the puppy more often or change his food to a better standard.
Maybe the puppy just likes to eat it but whether he is still healthy, I would just ignore and see whether he
eventually stops.

His food may be lacking the nutrients that he needs...that is one of the top reason for poo eating...maybe try switching to a premium food (if you aren't on one) and adding any a small amount of pumpkin, pineapple, or spinach to his food to detour poo eating.

Some dogs just like to eat their poop.. or anyones poop for that issue. The proteins in dog food are more concentrated in the feces, making it taste virtuous I suppose. There is something you can sprinkle on your dog food to make it less appetizing to dogs, I dont remember the name of it tho. Maybe try calling your vet. Good luck
