Dachshund, pronounced sort of like Doc's hund, is the correct spelling. Dachs mode badger and hund means dog. A Dachshund is a badger dog.

I am of the evaluation that if you can't spell it or say it, you shouldn't own it but you are probably a very youthful child who hasn't been taught better spelling, yet. Are you aware that you are supposed to be at least possible 13 before you sign on to Answers?
