What is a angelic process for me to train my maltese to stroll short a leash?
Can i train my maltese to walk without a leash or if she doesnt do it repeatedly i shouldnt try it?She is hard to train she likes to learn on her own by doing mistakes first but surrounded by that case a mistake would be running away? Or should i keep her on her harness?Whatever is safer
i have a teacup maltese and OH MY is it hard to train them to do anything are the most STUBBORN cute cuddly dogs ever lol!!
i would try a harness my dog HATES leashes he in actuality wont walk at all if he's on one! sometimes he forgets around the harness and he'll walk then try to run after the string smh!
Did you know that if you walk a dog lacking a leash you could get sued? For example if your dog ran out within front of a car and god forbid that car ran it over and broke the car's lights, you will hold to pay for the car's fixing expenses.

Yes you can train her without a leash. Try putting her favorite treats within your pocket and when she starts wandering away from you call her name and when she get to you give her a treat. Make sure you take her favorite treats next to you every time you both go for a walk.
Answers: For your dog's sanctuary, she should never be allowed off leash until she's 100% reliable on recall. If her retract isn't reliable, you don't let her off leash. Perhaps she wants obedience classes?
hold her on the leash unless you are in a fenced area. The try letting her off the leash. Have lots of treats and reward her when she walk next to you w/o the leash. practice, practice, practice. Always work in a fenced area within case she runs.

If you want to save your dog safe, keep her on a leash. It only take a second for her to get hit by a car.
well whether you really want to train her without a leash start inside first. but if she walks absent yell at her! she needs to know who is alpha dog. then she will listen. also try walking on a leash at first and once she learn to heal outside then get hold of rid of the leash inside move outside without it. a leash is the safest thing though
