What is a obedient, small, dog?
I reeeally want my own dog, so I am looking for advice on what kind of dog I should get. I want it to be a puppy when I seize it, I want it to be small, cute, female, and kinda lazy so it won't get that bored when I'm at institution. I was thinking a Pug because most of them are all of those things.. and I've had experience next to those. I looove Lancashire Heelers, but they are so rare that they are like $1800. I was also thinking of a rat terrier, but I hold made them out to be hyper.
Ok here is situation.
No matter what kind of dog you get its going to be hyper as a puppy. Also beside a puppy you need to remember you will have to train it. Potty training a puppy can be very tiresome but once they start to attain it it works out.
Here is a really good website that has every dog breed with some info on them also where on earth you can get the dog of your choice as well

We in recent times got 2 Alaskan Malamutes. After our Golden Retriever it took us some time to move on btu we are finally ready.
Yorkshire Terriers, affectionately known as "Yorkies," offer big personalities within a small package. Though members of the Toy Group, they are terriers by nature and are courageous, determined, investigative and energetic. They have long, luxurious blue and tan coats. This portable pooch is one of the most popular breeds according the AKC(R) Registration Statistics.
A Look Back
Named for the English city from which they originally frozen rain, Yorkshire Terriers were used in the nineteenth century to catch rats surrounded by clothing mills. Surprisingly enough, in its beginnings, the Yorkie belonged to the working class, particularly the weavers; in fact, facetious comments were recurrently made about how the dogs' fine, silky coats were the ultimate product of the looms. Eventually, the breed disappeared the workforce and became a companion animal to families of European high society.
Right Breed for You?
Yorkies are smoothly adaptable to all surroundings, travel capably and make suitable pets for many homes. Due to their small size, they require limited exercise, but obligation daily interaction with their people. Their long coat requires regular brushing.
you're right about the terrier part- i think a pug is a good choice but try reading up on it a bit more.
I hope your not gone too long during the day because any dog particularly small dogs get really lonely if left for too long. :(
Pugs are great little guys and blend all right into the family. Just please do lots of research on the breed you choose and on training so that your ownership can be successful.
You are right about rat terriers, they are very soaring energy and can be little stinkers to train. They are smart but a bit of a hard nut to crack.
Heelers are high life too, with you being gone most of the day this could spell trouble.
Stay near smaller dogs bred for companionship and you should be okay.
GL
Ps
Dogs are only as good as there owners fashion them TRAIN your pup well and you will have many well-mannered years together
i expect a good small dog is a corgie or a cocker spaniel poodle(it's a mix)
(:

Is the Pug the dog that can't swim?
chihuahua, mine is cute apathetic when im gone, according to my friends and when im there is really playful
My Advice Don't get a Rat Terrier they will scratch up everything in your house. Personally i have found that either a Maltese or Bison or Pomeranian are outstandingly good pets, they are very hyper for a month or two then they will gentle down after they get to know you :)
Congrats on getting a Dog!
I Luv my lil fluff ball :D
Answers: I have a maltese/shitszu and she is all of the things you are looking for. She sleeps all sunshine and is really affectionate. Please dont get a beagle we have had one and it be a phsyco maniac dog. It will trash your house while your gone.
Pomeranians are great dogs. I get to see one all of the time and he is totally well tempered. They also tend to bond to one owner rather than self aloof and and antisocial. They do require grooming and lots of attention, but with a good owner, that shouldnt be a problem!
good luckk!
Pekinese are good small dogs
try your local animal shelter, also the bichon frise is a really good small dog if u want it to be idle and sit around with out too much exercise.
A beagle's fairly small.
Try your animal shelter first, they usually have full breeds for much cheaper, and you can also reclaim the life of a dog that way.
What you are looking for is a pug. It is a small dog that will give you plentifully of love. Also, the pug is not very hyper (mine sleeps when I am not at home), however it can still be fun when you want to play with it. I think you be right when Pug came into your mind, they're perfect, cute, and lovable! I don't regard I'll ever get another breed.
I have 2 chihuahuas and they are pretty laid back. I don't recommend getting miniature pinschers. I had one and she be just too hyper.
get a pug seriously they are close to the most amazing cratures ever or a boston terrier
: )
A Yorkshire Terrier is a wonderful little pet. As for pugs, their eyes tend to fall out, and it's an expensive operation to repair.
Pembroke Corgi, they are so cute.
A teacup poodle is a good small dog. Its so small that i can fit inside a glass cup. But take care not to hurt it cause they are very fragile
Pug chihuahuas mixes! They have lovable pug personality, short all the health problems. They aren't mean similar to chihuahuas either. Most of them are pretty mellow, too.
dachshund! so adorable!
I think Sitzu's (I think to be precise how one spells it ) They are Beautiful and Cute, and are very Loving and they have a Lovelysoft coat
West Highland White Terrier, they are extraordinarily good natured and pretty.
Rat terriers are a bit "slow" whether you know what I mean. Really hard to train.
I don't know any really lazy small dogs, they are compassionate of hyper as a rule. I have had a yorkshire terrier and a maltese, but cute, and didn't require an excessive amount of attention.
What you are describing is a cat by the way, not a dog :)
Don't buy a dog, within are plenty of dogs with no home. Visit your humane society.
pomeranian i am getting a male tomorrow i have have a female for 9 years best dogs ever
I particularly have to disagree with the comments about rat terriors. I own a 15 lb girl and she does not tear up everything in our house. The only piece she likes to chew on is socks. Also, she is not "slow". Rat terriors are well known for their sharp compliance skills. She was one of the best in her obedience training lesson. I'm not trying to brag, but I'm just saying that rat terriors are not "slow".
It's just foolish to say that any breed is a certain way unless it's in good health known they have those specific dispositions. Rat terriors are also known for their hyper behavior. Mine is just about in the medium range, not too dramatic one path or the other. This is my first dog and I am very glad I chose her. She's the best for our family.
a corgi! they get knees problems if they jump off too large beds couches etc but they r so adorable and lovable!!
A hot dog. It's small and when you go to academy it won't make a mess of your house. Genious! plus only about $2 for a adjectives pack!
pekinese and chihuahua mixed
Baby springer spaniel
