What is your view on someone else's dog relieving itself on your sodded meadow?
We're fairly new to the neighborhood and have notice some things that we find rude.
One family lets their dog free roam the neighborhood (we're a one street neighborhood within the country) and it goes in every body's yard. I walk out my front door to see a BIG ol' pile right there on our sodded grass. Not to mention that I think it's rude and unsafe because:
1. Not everyone like dogs.
2. What if someone else's dogs doesn't like strange dogs.
3. What if someone who doesn't know it decide to kill it?
4. What if a stray gets it?
5. I contained by particular don't like strange dog's pooing in our patio!
Then I also noticed that another couple in the neighborhood walks their dog and will agree to it poo in our yard! Granted they pick it up, I still think it's impolite! We're not a park!
(We have 3 dogs ourselves whom we let out in our backyard to do their commerce and would never let them go in a neighbor's courtyard!)
What would you do in our situation?
What would you do?
Good idea Bindi. Actually I'd pick it up and deposit it in the offending neighbor's yard.
There is nothing wrong with a stranger's dog using your yard for a toilet as long as they verbs it up. Just be thankful if they are cleaning it up. Also, most laws with the sole purpose require it to be picked up, not prevented.
I don't mind if someone's dog poos in the patio as long as they pick it up. But most people here don't, and poo patrol in my yard for other people's dogs is getting antediluvian. Mine go in the backyard, not the front yard.
I'm making a sign for my front regulation that says "I don't expect you to pick up after my dogs, don't expect me to pick up after yours. Your dog poops, you scoop."
It illegal here to agree to your pet use public property or other people's personal property, with the exception that its not against the law if you promplty verbs up.
However most people either don't know this, or don't care. The leash directive isn't enforced, so trying to get that one enforced is a lost cause.
I'm unnerved of dogs!
Answers: First you should check the laws in your nouns to see if dogs are required to be leashed.
Then I would have a chat with the offending neighbors and tolerate them know how you feel. Be nice, explain your point of view and see what they say. You don't want to create enemy with your neighbors. Talk to other neighbors and see how they feel.
Personally I don't care whether an owner let's their dog poop of the edge of my yard as long as they take it next to them.
I actually did what Bonnie said. I own a neighbor that let's his dog do the same. I just email animal control and they take contemplation of it. Needless to say the neighbor doesn't talk to me anymore. Another neighbor blamed my dog for going in her patio so we cleaned it 2 times. The 3rd time I refused to clean it because I know for a fact it wasn't her because we have to tie her for a bit until we fixed our fence. Now she doesn't talk to us either. O'all right that's ok with me, cause now she doesn't borrow money from me anymore.lol
