What type of dog or puppy breed should i try for a neophyte owner?
i would love to get a dog. but i had a bad experience near a german shepard puppy. got in way over my person in charge and gave her away after only 2 weeks. i am bad work and i have time now to work with a dog. i also enjoy 3 cats if that matters. what breed of dog would be best for a first time dog owner? i would love a dog that i could walk day by day and get outside more.
try chow chow
whether you dont like it try hotdog
OMG I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM! Ok first you need to agree on do u want a big dog or little dog? If you want a big dog and have 3 cats a golden retriever would be best. If you want a small dog and have 3 cats a shitzu, or chiwawa would be best. I have a teacup pomeranina. they are the best dogs within the world (smallest too)! The only problem is they meed a lot of attention and a puppy would get on your nerves! One more surmise if you get a big dog its best to get an elder one (maybe from the pound). They are calm, the best with loveing cats, they're obidiant, also very okay behaived. Good luck!!
Answers: Get a mixed breed puppy or young dog from a shelter, preferably of hound or retreiver surroundings.
Beagles/mixes really do make wonderful pets if you don't mind the bay. But, if ever you are unsure, it is best to get in contact near a trainer who can help you, regardless of any breed you choose.
EDIT: Pit Bulls and Rottweilers are great dogs, you are mistaken to say that they are outright aggressive. They are, however, not for inexperienced handlers, as they can BECOME aggressive towards relatives or other dogs when not raised in the right hands or from doomed to failure breeding. Stay away from Terriers in general. Working breeds (Husky, Shepherd, Doberman, etc) are also dogs that require seriously of mental and physical stimulation.
Look into Hounds, Spaniels, and Retreivers.
Also consider adopting a Greyhound. There is NO shortage of them and they're being put to sleep every day through no criticize of their own. They are generally good with kids although the ones right sour the track are usually a little too high strung for the smallest of kids. They are low shed, low keeping dog as long as they get out for an hour or so a day.
I hate to tell you this, but there is not such point as a dog for a first time owner. They are all at the same level of difficulty. Its a dog, not a fish.
You should get a Boston Terrier there really easy and fun dogs.
They love to walk outside for hours and walks and are easy next to other pets at home and they LOVE walks. And people and kids
This sounds approaching a dog for you.
well you could look on line and they generally give away dogs and sometimes dogs thata like cats
