Why are general public so against Boxer dogs have tail?
I have 2 boxer dogs and I love them, I also love thei lond, un docked tails. I am always human being stopped by strangers to ask why I am letting them keep their tails and I should put an elastic tie around it until it drops off. My dogs are 4 months and 1 year so that is not possible besides.
I am getting angry now that people feel approaching they should tell me that should mutilate my dogs tails, and for what? They are pets, not hunters.
How can I stup them up for good?
People are MORONS! They have NO trade telling you that the dogs tails should be docked. I say, well-mannered for you, not doing it. It should be outlawed unless it's a medical concern. Hey, lets stick a rubber band around one of their body parts and see how they like it.
Tail docking isn't mutilation- its breed standard for many breeds, but whether you're not showing or planning on working the dog then its not something to worry about.
Oh- whether you put an elastic band around your dogs tail you're going to jail for a year for animal cruelty, negligence, and abuse. There are VETS that will amputate the tail for you when the dog is a puppy.
When people tell you to dock their tail, tell them to dock their privates to prevent more idiots from being bred. Thats how I run it.

People do it mainly for the look; they regard as it's cuter, and I have to admit, that it does look a little funny on this sort of dog. But, it really is more humane and ethical to disappear their body parts alone, like the tails and even the ears. Its not like they hold a choice, like us humans, that choose to get bigger boobs or a weird antenna.
In my country we are prohibited to dock or crop as it is against the law.Many breeders of boxers,dobs,schnauzers,rottys object violently as docking is NOT mutilation although l never banded l have the small cut by the vet at three days,You have a perfect right in your country to set out tail on or dock,it is a democracy and you and your animals have rights.If anyone in future query it be super smart and say they are imports from Europe where they are barred to dock and that will stop them dead in their tracks
Tail docking isn't mutilation, but you do certainly have a right to maintain an undocked dog and it is not a soul else's business.
If you lived in the UK you wouldn't have any choice -- it's illegal to dock tail there. And in some other countries in Europe.
They are *your* dogs -- it's your decree to make. Not some idiot person on the street!

i really don't know why but that makes me mad because dogs gotta be trained. i love all dogs so it really make me mad. we should stay in touch it seems similar to we have a lot in adjectives. and sorry for not knowing the answer to your good question!!
I gain the same reaction toward my AB and APBT but it's not a standard in my breeds. I don't beleive it self mutilation, just a standard people are use to seeing in the Boxer and probably why you acquire questioned. It's up to you anyway, who cares what general public think.
Answers: Tell them that since you aren't showing or working the dogs you see no sense to do it, and even if you did want to with future dogs the you enjoy now dog is MUCH MUCH too old for it now so they can a moment ago drop the subject now thankyouverymuch.
Keep in mind that beside hunting dogs it is much safer to reomove the tail than have it get damaged while out within the field, putting the dog in pain and at risk for infectiion and still possibly governing to amputation. It is done when the dog is DAYS old, not years so yes you are right that is impossible. They cut them, I don't think anyone really ties them rotten like that exepct for irresponsible people.
Cropping ears and docking tails should be outlawed. Except for medical conditions. You may want to remind people dogs do use their tails for harmonize and communication and you feel no need to maim your dog. Kudos to you! Bells, whistle, confetti
Anyone who thinks its wrong not to dock tail is being awfully judgmental. If you are not showing your dogs and you are happy with have "natural" dogs, then it's absolutely fine.
Personally, if I be to have show dogs, I would choose a breed that could be shown in natural condition. My personal belief is that most cropping and docking is immediately done for cosmetic purposes and that the original functional purpose for these procedures for most breeds is now obsolete. This includes boxers.
Just smile and say, "No, I similar to my dogs unmutilated thanks"
or ask them if you can put a rubber band around a peice of their body to see if it hurts when it falls bad.
I'm curious to know if you go up to strangers & rant roughly their dogs being docked?
My breed is docked,I DO dock & will continue to do so.
MY dogs & nobody's business.
If I did boxers(which NEVER be huntin' dawgs,btw),I would dock *&* crop.
Its a personal decision, its no one's business . the dogs belong to you.
