Why do dogs close to playing fetch so much?

Okay, its fun and all...but is there a biological reason?
i do not know but if i had to give it some thought i would conjecture it is there only way that can pick up things and spend time near you thay do not have thums
I muse it's their natural instinct to chase and attack their food, or predators... even though a ball or frisbee looks zilch like food or another predators- I think it's something in their brain that tell them to go after it, since its in their territory. But once they do it several times, they realize its nil thats going to hurt them- so they view it as a fun game...
I never teach a dog to fetch, it only teaches them addict behavior.
Dogs are pack animals and see Human owners as their pack leader who they become very attached and loyal to - so I guess it follows that they enjoy playing games that their Human pack leaders inculcate them.
My dog is a retriever, its what they do!
Some dogs are naturally bred to retrieve. So yes there is a biological defence.
Every dog have a prey drive. Even golden retrievers and border collies.

Dogs like to chase things because of their prey-drive. It's instinct to chase things.
.
My dog only play fetch when she's within the mood. LOL! Not all dogs became obsessive near this game. Some breeds are bred for retrieving stuffs. My dog is a cross between a German Shephard dog and a mongrel of unknown ancestry. Dogs love this game probably because they like to chase things, similar to their ancestors the wolves which chase and hunt their preys for centuries.
idk maybe they like it abundantly or they were born to play it. Some dogs hate fetch so not all dogs play.
Answers:    My dog really doesn't close to to play fetch, but she does like to chase the item that is thrown, even though she loses intrest quickly. hehe
They like to run and they like to please you.
Why does anyone?
Their prey drive
They are hunting, it's a prey instinct , Then they are surrendering their confine to the Alpha dog ( pack leader ),you.
