Why does my 11 month pomeranian try to mount my 6 month australian shepherd?
it may be that the pom is coming into heat. Females will try to mount other dogs when they are coming into warmth.
It may also be a dominance thing. Your pom may be trying to establish dominance.
You may want to check into having them neuter. You certainly would not want your pom to end up with puppies, they would be too big for her to make a contribution birth to. You could end up losing her pom in the process

It's a domination piece with dogs. Your 11 month-old pomeranian is letting the younger dog that they are the boss or the "dominant dog". ?They'll get along, and the younger dog may at times try to mount the older dog. For some point they just want to show they are the dominant dog, or the boss of the house. Hope I helped.
they are trying to be the alpha dog and dominate them, simple. Breed has little to do with it whether the pom can be the alpha dog over the austrilian shepard.
All dogs espcially Juniors such as your Pomeranian get 'randy' around that age as they manage sexual maturity at 12months so he is testing the waters ;)
Get him desexed it might help . I give mine a teddy and he used to hump that even though he was neutered we call it the fustration teddy!
Answers: To establish dominance. I know many poms that rule the households with larger dogs.
My sister also has a 5 lb Chihuahua that rules over her 80 lb Labrador.
Most poms do not know that they are smaller and want to be the boss of the house.
i think they are trying to mate with each other thats what my dog did and she get puppies!!
