Why shouldn't pedigree dogs be bred?
what is a pedigree and why is it wrong to breed them?
Optional: what is the rat dog and is it right or wrong??
a lot of the problems with pedigree dogs very soon is that the Kennel Club have set such extreme criteria for the dogs to meet and we now enjoy dogs which have such a wide range of genetic abnormality and these are being used for the breeding to meet the standards. If you look at many of the toy dogs they are breeding the weakest within a litter (the runts) because they are the smallest and trying to further compact the breed. Bulldogs now can barely breathe because their face have been so far distorted that it is near on impossible. In the UK there are several breeds whose lifespan has been drastically reduced because of the way they are anyone bred. Add to that the puppy farms and naive breeders who are in it lone for the money and the stock is again made weaker. If you look at many pedigree papers the inbreeding is shocking. I am saying all this as someone who have two pedigree dogs but I have gone through a rescue organisation for my Greyhound and a breed club for my Shih Tzu, having done loads of research into the breed itself and the places where I get the dogs. Unfortunately there is a huge difference in the ethics between breeders when you enjoy those who want to breed healthy happy dogs who will be with you for as long as possible and those who merely want to rake in the dosh. Mongrels come from a wider range of stock and as such tend to be sturdier, healthier and own a better longevity. I'll jump off my soapbox now, sorry for prattling on but it merely makes me so sad that the health of these dazzling dogs are being destroyed for money. No idea what a rat dog is - we called Jack Russells that because they loved to stop them.
I think it is wrong to breed them for two reason:
1. Because there are many dogs, purebred and mixed, being put down contained by pounds because people keep breeding/buying more.
2. It isn't beneficial healthwise to dogs. Pedigree automatically routine closed gene pool and breeding for certain attributes (usually exaggerated features), which inevitably leads to health problems. Natural screening is always best healthwise.
I really approaching this chart that explains when it is appropriate to consider breeding your dog: http://vizsla-breeder.net/Breeding%20Flo...
A "pedigree" is merely nothing more than a family tree that shows the dog's lineage.. have a pedigree does not mean that the dog is quality.. it doesnt mean the dog is on top form, it doesnt mean the dog is a good example of its breed.. it just resources that there is a record of the ancestors.
There are many pedigree dogs that are harmful, have poor temperments, or are just a poor example of their breed.. they have nought to contribute to future generations.
It isn't wrong to breed from good quality, health tested pedigree dogs. Pedigree is truly a misleading term. I think you mean purebred which is a dog produced from 2 dogs of alike breed (with documentation to prove it). All dogs have a pedigree, even the most mixed up mutt in the world, all a pedigree is is a "household tree".
The only difference is that the parents, grandparents etc. of a mutt or crossbreed are usually unknown.
I know what a Rat Terrier Terrier is, no idea on a Rat Dog.
Because even responsible breeding is in-breeding and many breeders don't breed to improve condition and well-being of the breed, they breed for looks and marketing appeal. That's why we have so many large breeds near miserable hip and back problems.
Mutts from the shelter are the only dogs that will ever live at my house. Our lab-boxer-shepherd mix is a treasure of love and capitulation and fun.
don't know what pedigree is but when ive hurd the term rat dog most of the time nearby talking about small dogs like chiwawa
To hold it simple ** apedigree dog does not mean its apure breed*
pedigree is family tree, every dog has this, mutt or not, as every dog have parents, grand parents etc
Purebreed mean two dogs that are kc registered to prove what breed they are
only a pure breed can be kc registered this is a document to enunciate there are purebreed. For instance mum is ( for instance) a husky and dad is a husky there fore the pups are pure husky- they will also be kc registered to prove this - if mum be kc registered but the dad was not then the pups can not be kc registered as there is no proof the farther is apurebreed- plan there is achance the pups are not pure breed. No matter how much the father looks like apurebreed- no kc papers - no proof.
If you suggest why shouldnt mongrels be bred its because there may be alotof diffrent breeds behind the parents resulting in problems beside the pups i.e temperment, illnesses and being disformed in some way.
not certain what arat dog is - i guess some people refer that to the small breeds.
ONLY Pedigreed dogs should be bred.
A pedigree is a record of all the dogs relatives from track back along with their names, photos, titles, condition and registration numbers.
Its a way to know where your puppy came from, and its history.
Its an exalted part of responsible breeding, and only registered dogs come with a pedigree.
100% of mutt/mongrels *&* at minimum,95% of purebreds are NOT breeding quality!
"Pedigree" is nothing but a known & written "loved ones tree" & means SQUAT if all surrounded by it are junk!
&.can you possibly mean "Rat Terrier"? Is *what* "right or wrong"?
Because it's incest. It's not uncommon at adjectives for breeders to breed brother to sister or daughter to father etc. And if no mongrel dogs where born the healthier, stronger, longer lived dog wouldn't exist any more. My relatives has had a lot of different types of dogs pedigree and mongrel. Laika who is our oldest dog (who is gonna be put down nowadays unfortunately) is an 18 year old border collie x jack russel. My grandparents dog who died a few years ago was a pedigree boxer and she lived to 9. When my mum was youthful she had a labrador crossed with something else (no idea what) and she lived to 15. My uncle have a pedigree bull mastiff who lived to 6. My dog Chilli who is 6 at the moment is a mongrel and we aren't sure what she is and she can still outrun me when i'm going downhill on a bike. See a pattern here? And fozzibear was'y joking nearly bull dogs, they really do have their nose bred so short their soft pallet gets pushed down into their throat. Though bull dogs arn't the one and only dog with this problem, The pekingese that won crufts in 2003 had to be put on an rime pack to stop him overheating and dying. Anyway. Hope this answered your question.
A pedigree dog is one with papers and its parents can be shown to prove they are show dogs or full pedigree's ETC..
and it isn't illegal to breed purebred dogs general public don't just agree with it because there's so many unwanted animals.
well if you breed 2 labradors the puppies will adjectives be labs (pedigree's) but if you breed a husky with a german shepherd, the puppies will be mutts. a pedigree dog has to be a pure bred dog
ONLY pedigreed (purebred) dogs should be bred.
But not all or even most of them are suitable. Only those that closely conform to their breed standard AND are titled should be bred.
All dogs, all living things, can enjoy a "pedigree" - a pedigree is just a document that lists ancestors.
If you are asking about purebred dogs, afterwards those are the only ones that should be bred.
Add: Loki, LMAO!
I don't breed pedigrees because I don't believe contained by making more pieces of paper while thousands of trees die in mills.
ADD: ;)
Answers: Your question makes no sense what-so-ever!
Reputable breeders breed their "pedigree" dogs to better the breed. People who buy these puppies should not breed them, as we are not educated satisfactory, and should leave it to the pro's.
As for "what is a pedigree", you should really stay in school, look the residence up in the dictionary, or do a simple google search.
