Wondering how big my doberman will find?
i have a 6 month old doberman, he is 53 pounds right now, his dad and mom be big dogs and he is a purebreed, he has big paws and a lot of additional skin people told me that extra skin means he will saturate out and grow into it so its a good thing, but i was wondering how big he will acquire and at what age will his height end at and when he will begin to crowd out and how much do dobermans usually weigh, i read on the net bedtween 60-80 pounds but his father was 125 pounds so i dont infer why it says that
I have one once for 14 years and it was 120 lbs so thhay get tall and big. Dobermans are big and are supposed to grasp 100lbs over so no its not a "backyard breeder ripoff"
They SHOULD consignment between 66-88 pounds.
125 pounds is VERY overweight, and HIGHLY out of standard.
You bought a ripoff dog from a backyard breeder. Congratulations.

The AKC Doberman standard says the correct weight is between 66-88 pounds.
Anything out of that is to say not in standard, and probably not purebred somewhere in the lines.
I don't make the rules, AKC does.
Answers: Dobermans generally reach full echelon at about a year old if not altered and a bit following if altered (altering delays the growth plates closing) and continue to swarm out until about 2 to 2.5 yrs old. A correctly sized male Doberman should be roughly speaking 70-90 lbs (the weight is not specified in the AKC breed standard but this is generally considered the proper bulk range) However many irresponsible breeders breed dogs well out of breed standard producing dogs that are far to large such as the sire of your dog. What you see on string is the proper size of the dog but like any breed poor breeding produces dogs that are outside the proper size range.
