18" Fluorescent Lamp for my 29 gallon Eclipse reservoir?

where can I get one in TORONTO. I call for it for plants. My hood can hold 2 18" bulbs. ATM i have 2 15 watt bulbs, but thats not enough, so anywhere in North York, Toronto, where on earth i could get an 18" flourescent lamp with around... 30 watts a bulb or so would sustain, tyvm
Answers:    your ballast will only accept 15 watt bulbs, you would have to replace everything.

Good word if you get low light plants you obligation no co2, Very little fert and plain gravel substrate, just the right t8 bulbs for that hood.

be super careful once you increase the light you hold to increase everything else and thas when it goes bad fast and get really expensive quick.

get 2 6700k spectrum lights like zoo-med ultra sun or hagen existence glo 2.

ignore if it says righteous for plants, it must be between 6500-7000k to be good.

throw in 2 of those get some anubias and crpyts and jave ferns and check out of it at that.

I don't think you can get this unless you take a different light fixture. Flourescent tubes (the straight-line kind) have their wattage tied to their length. 18-inch bulbs are 15 watts; 24-inch bulbs are 20 watts, and so on. A normal 30-watt tube is 36 inches long, so it won't fit within your fixture. There are "High Output" (HO) and "Very High Output" (VHO) bulbs, but they require special ballasts.
Compact flourescents can deliver more wattage in less space, but for this you would have to retrofit your hood beside new light sockets and ballasts (there are kits for doing this, but they aren't enormously cheap).

2 15-watt bulbs on a 29-gallon tank is enough for any of the low-to-medium light plants; possibly you should just grow those species until you can get a more powerful lighting system. (Remember, though, that more light funds more heat, and think about how to keep hold of the tank cool when you boost the lighting.)
