2 AquaClear Power Filters on a 90 gallon cistern?
OK, here's the dealio.
I have a midas cichlid in a 49 gallon tall soaring tank.
On that 49 gallon tank I have 1 AquaClear Power Filter, # 70 (40-70 gallons)
I am looking into buying her a 90 gallon container.
Should I buy another AquaClear #70? Would that be too much power? Or should I buy 1 Aquaclear #110 (60-110 gallons)?
Should I have two AquaClear #70's, or one AquaClear #110's on a 90 gallon tank?
With the aquaclears, you really aren't going to hut things too much. I prefer to employ dual filtration on as many tank as I can and you really can't go wrong with dual filtration. Unless the run back on the aquaclears create a current contained by the tank and pin the fish to the walls, you aren't going to hurt the tank at all using a moment AC on there. Though an AC 110 will more then suffice for your 90 gallon tank, I chew over you get a better advantage using dual AC 70's. You could just as ably even use a 110 with your current 70 as well. Either way you really can't turn wrong here.
What julie d have is very generous to her fish and NOT to much filtration. I have an aquaclear 110 on one of my 29 gallon tank and my water has always be crystal clear and the flow rate is not even that bad, and my fish are happy and healthy. For the most piece you can never over filter a tank, especially with cichlids. They want more than most fish being that they are dirty and really messy.
Depends, if she seem bothered by it, one is enough.
I have an AquaClear 110 in my 55 gal. tank.
Add: I hold 3 Oscars and a Pleco. This is just temporary and is about to kismet real soon.like today. I am aware that this container is too small for the size that my Oscars have grown to, and in the process of changing this. This is one of the reason why I have a 110 in a 55 gal.
Answers: All of my tanks own duel filters. Aqua clears are the best. I have 2 #70 on my 90 gallon tank and it is wonderful!
