They all have the same requirements and my petstore sell both kinds. I like the normal Zebra Danios because they look much more unprocessed in their habitat but GloFish are really unique and pretty.
Which one do you prefer?
I honestly love any, as they are the same fish, just with different colours, it's strong to choose! The vibrant orange, green, and yellow for the GloFish are beautiful, but so are the Zebra Danios. :P I reflect on I prefer the GloFish, though.
Glo fish are not genetically modified or have their DNA altered you have to be very naive to believe that someone have managed to develop the scientific technology and capability to isolate the specific gene responsible for colour within something as minute as a fishes egg. The cost would be astronomical and if that sort of technology were available they wouldn't be wasting it on fish.
They have be injected with a dye to make them look pretty so the suppliers can sell them to credulous people. It's extremely cruel and means the fishes lives are significantly reduced. They are banned within most of Europe including the UK as supporting animal cruelty helps perpetuate it.
Please don't buy these things and support the cruel people aft this, You are buying an animal which has been badly mistreated and will not live out its fluent life span because of the treatment it has received.
Buy good forceful natural Zebra Danios
zebra if you want natural... but if you want bright and pretty step with the glofish... i use to have some glofish and they look really really cool under a black hurricane lantern... and technically speaking, glofish are zebra danios... they have just had their dna altered to formulate them bright colored... if i remember correctly, they injected the dna with jellyfish dna.. and thats what gives them their bright colors.
Actually, glofish ARE genetically enhanced. Check out glofish.com. I prefer the Zebra's of late because I like the more natural look. But if you want the 'cool' factor, dance with the glofish and make sure you own blue lights for your tank. They look really neat if you do a full fluorescent container, such as the neon pebbles, neon plants and fluorescent bubbles.

Normal-colored zebras, no question. The glofish just look unnatural to me.
Zebra Danios. While glofish are not something to be afraid of, I find them unsightly. Its taking a fish that has adapted flawlessly to its environment and making it look totally bizarre. Its ugly, its extravagant, and personally I think no serious aquarist would ever keep them.
I happen to have zebra danios and glofish. I devise you might have different kinds of glofish, but I have like danios. Danios are very energetic fish and I recommend them. I think you should both, merely ask the pet store employees, to make sure they can shift together in a tank. I'm pretty sure they can, but of late in case, ask! Hope this helps!
I prefer the GlowFish as they are more interesting than normal zebras.

Answers: I do have some glofish myself, the are a moment ago modified danios with a shorter lifespan, for color, you should go with glofish, but i HIGHLY recommend the danios as they will live longer personal ad be happier. But, both are ok, so go with what you want, but keep surrounded by mind, zebra danios can be 1-2 dollars, while glofish can be 4-10 dollars, and glofish are illegal in some states.
I prefur the glofish.
