A interview just about my betta?
I bought him a 2 gallon tank
and am decorating it with his gravel/plants/castle.
I didn't put his radiator or air pump in yet because I enjoy one question.in both of my gravel packages, there's big, medium, and small sized gravel
If i sit and pick through the small gravel (like i did next to my goldfish, it will take over an hour)
I can't sit through picking out 2 lb of gravel.
Will my betta ever eat the small gravel pieces? Should I worry?
[unlike my golfish, i notice he never eats his poop. He just gets excited thinking it's food, consequently goes past it after seeing it. ]
Fish don't drink gravel.
Otherwise they would all die in the wild and become extinct.
Bettas are smarter than that, they would never eat anything from bad the tank floor, they like to eat things that are floating approximately or slowly beginning to sink.
Not to worry bettas don't like to drink poop.
I also must add that my betta loves java moss he likes to dig through it as whether he's making a cave.
Answers: Before you put in ur gravel you are suppose to bathe it off with warm dampen. That way it will get rid of some of the dirt and small rocks that might fog your water when you pour it contained by. After that, THEN you can add in conditioned water for your betta fish and put him/ her contained by there. And don't worry-- they are very picky eaters. They will not eat something that doesn't aroma good to them.
My betta fish is a scavenger-- she goes on the floor and nips on a few rocks to see whether some of the food I gave her sunk down (i feed them pease once a week to clear their digestive system). Haha
why would you pick through the gravel similar to that. the betta will not eat the gravel. you will be fine. set up the tank and stick the fish in.
Just make sure the gravel is pebbles that can't be eat. You should return the aerator. Bettas don't need aerators, since they have to go to the top to take air anyway. It would save you money. My womanly betta loves her cave. Maybe you could get one of those. Just a suggestion. Hope I helped!
I used the small surrounding substance and and large gravel.. my Betta fish didn't eat it.. So its ok u can still your that gravel and for the air pump adn the boiler you don't really need it for a betta fish.. just make certain the top of the tank has holes in it.. becuase betta fish call for to swim up to the surface to breath in air..
