A few goldfish question?

I plan on using my old ten gallon for either a goldfish or a few hermit crabs, but I thought I would receive all the questions out about both first.

These are the goldfish ones:

- Is a ten gallon an okay-size for one goldfish?
- Can the container be placed by a window or vent?
- Where would be a good place to keep the container?
- Does one gold fish need a heater?
- What kind of goldfish are there?
- Do they need anything other than goldfish flakes surrounded by their diet?
- How large would a small goldfish grow to be?
- Do they need any special sort of decor?
- What is needed for the proper care of a goldfish?
- How aged do they live to be?

Thank you. Any other advice / information would be wicked cool. :]
A ten gallon will be more than enough for a goldfish probably 2-4 will be good for them...A tank should not be place by a pane or vent it can bring on algae fast than normal at times and you'll be taking care of it increasingly than usual.A good place for the tank would be on a stand or on a dresser or any kind of study cabinent or table. You don't really call for a heater but if you do get a 2-15 gallon boiler that will be more than enough and keep the temp set at 65-70F no higher or lower. If you downfall up getting some fancy goldfish and there's over 100 different kinds then you could go up to buying a 55 gallon to nearly a 100 gallon depending on what you get.Filter and air pump.pumping out bubbles is always great for goldfish. The filter should be for a 20-30gallon power filter that hang out of the tank.No decor really needed but some small plants and a decor at least 2 is more than enough and they entail room...to swim.Just follow these steps and you're good to go and they can live more than 10years but always in place if they die to buy more...
Until they get bigger a 10 gallon is good.
Not a fanlight.
Against a wall
No heater
shebumkins, commons, comets, black morres, fantails, etc.
6 inch full grown in a aquarium and up to a foot or more in a pond for shebumkins, commons and comets.
Life plants are great and hiding places.
A filter, ammonia slayer powder stuff, goldfish food and a propper tank
up to 20-40 years with good support.

Goldfish flakes are good, bloodworms or shrimp (live or dead) for a snack, vegitables and fruits. Mine love the beans inside of green beans.

1. Only for a couple weeks, maybe a couple months, but after you'd have to upgrade it.

2. Nope. Window will cause algae, vent will oevrheat it.

3. Away from doors, windows, heaters/AC, vent, preferrably within a nook or cranny that it would fit in.

4. No

5. Ranchu, Lionhead, Oranda, Bubble Eye, there's many different varieties. Here's a total list here: http://www.theaquariumwiki.com/Goldfish

6. It's preferred; frozen food and freeze-dried food are good supplements every now and them.

7. About a foot long, including the tail.

8. Nope, they don't necessarily NEED it, but it's other better to have them.

9. AT LEAST a 20 gallon tank and a filter. That's basically it. And as you would expect food, water, hood, tank, etc.

10. The oldest one on record is 43 years. If you bear good care of yours, it may live to be maybe 20 years!
-It's fine for a common goldfish, but not for a fancy goldfish; they need more room.
-No
-Preferably the living room
-No, goldfish are cold-water fish
-Many, many types
-You should alter their diet with blood worms and brine shrimp
-A small goldfish would probably get to about 5-6 inches
-Just some plants and a place of escape
-Filter, air pump/air stone, weekly 25% water changes
-If you filch good care of them, 10+ years
Answers:    Wow a lot of misconceptions approximately goldfish here.

A 10 gallon tank is fine for fancy goldfish. They rarely get over 7 inches surrounded by any tank or pond so one fancy is fine (including oranda, bubble eyes, moores etc)

No a tank should not be placed by awindow or a vent. Windows can add ambient lighting calculation to the algae growth (not always a bad thing purely more to clean) a vent with heat will do the same as economically as very the water for both.

A good place to save a tank is anywhere there is a level floor, close to wall outlets, absent from where it would get bumped or hit with objects and out of direct sunlight, heat ducts or air conditioners.

Types of goldfish:

Common Largest has the potential to get over 2 1/2 foot live for 40+ years
Comet gold fish potential size 12" live for around 30-35 years
V-tail comet size potential around 10-12" live around 25-30 years
Shubunkins both single and double tail
Double tailed: generally 10-12 inches life span around 20-25 years
Watkins
Jinkins

The ones scheduled above cannot be housed in a 10 gallon tank. 20+ minimum here with commons need a wider tank,

Double Tailed with Dorsal Fin (rarely over 6-7 inches lives 8-10years)

Fantail
pearlscale (with head growth and without)
Ryukin
oranda
Moores
telescope
pompom
Demekin
Veiltail

Double Tailed next to No Dorsal Fin (rarely over 6-7 inches lives 8-10years)
Eggfish
Lionhead
Ranchu
Celestial
Bubble eye
Fancy's

(I think I got them all)

No goldfish do not need a kiln, however if you are housing fancy's with other fish a heater may be needed to preserve a stable 75 or 78 degree temperature. Depends on your aquarium.
Yes, goldfish call for a high protein and fiber diet low fats and fillers. Adding items like fresh green veggies (uncooked) to their diet is great and it help to ward off things like swimbladder, constapation and bloat problems. Lettuce, spinach, dandilion leaves, marigold pettels, oranges watermellon, peas green beans etc. Keep away from floating pellet in a tank.

Goldfish grow to a specific size depending on a number of factor. The main factor is how it was cared for within the first 120 days of life. Other factors that play a role are water talent, food quality, housing and genetics.

No special decor needed. Pick and choose what ever you like. Try to hold back from placing metals, items that will leach toxins and sharp objects in the tank.

Proper care is a aspect diet and a clean tank. 25% water change and cleaning once per week will help keep your fish and the tank fit. No salt should be added to your goldfish tank for any reason.

Cycling the container is also important.

If I can be of more assistance, feel free to email or repost. Good luck

- Is a ten gallon an okay-size for one goldfish?
Maybe while its small. But once it grows it will inevitability atleast a 30gal tank

- Can the tank be placed by a window or vent?
not contained by the winter, summer that would be fine. Just try to limit the direct light the tank get.

- Where would be a good place to keep the tank?
I hold one on my bureau and one on my kitchen counter. anyplace it looks good, is kept warm and is not in vulnerability of falling.

- Does one gold fish need a heater?
no, goldfish are cold river fish

- What kinds of goldfish are there?
shubunkin, oranda, moor, fantails, commons, comets ect

- Do they need anything excluding goldfish flakes in their diet?
Vegies (like lettuce peas ect) and fruits( citrus) are good for them along with flake or pellet food

- How massive would a small goldfish grow to be?
depends on the kind of goldfish anywhere from 8-16"

- Do they need any special sort of decor?
nah, couple plants. I personally preserve gravel free goldfish tanks, goldfish are messy fish. And with no gravel they keep the bottom of the reservoir clean for you

- What is needed for the proper care of a goldfish?
stress coat, and a couple kits to read ammonia and nitrate/nitrite level

- How old do they live to be?
goldfish can live to be 20+ years old. Oldest mine have ever lived be 10 years

Extra:
- Never mix fancy (fantails, oranda, ect) with other kinds (comets, commons ect)
- Goldfish seem eternally hungry, nurture what your fish can consume in 5 min 2 or 3 times a day
- a couple good mate for goldfish are crayfish and snails. Not terribly exciting but they help keep your container clean
- Goldfish should not be mixed with tropical fish for a couple reasons The produce a great deal of ammonia and other fish don't like it, they like cold temperatures, tropical fish close to warm. And if its a big goldfish, he may eat smaller Fish
- sometimes goldfish bully respectively other and tails/fins get ripped, they will heal on their own, don't interfere unless a life is surrounded by danger
Good luck and remember don't buy fish at walmart petco or petsmart. Find either a local breeder or a high element fish store.
1. No, goldfish can get as big as 18 inches fully grown
2. No
3. Anywhere, just not close at hand a vent or window
4. No, goldfish are coldwater fish
5. Generally 2 kinds, fast and slow. Comets are hasty and slender and Black moors are slow and bubble-eyed.
6. Their main staple should be a high quality golfish pellet food. They are omnivores but thrive on a more herbivorous diet, so besides the pellet (flakes lose nutrients too fast upon oppening), give them some veggies twice a week, just cut it up into bite size peices, so it's easier for them to digest.
7. About 8-9 inches
8. Cave, silk plants
9.Big cistern and a filter
10. Up to 30 years with great care, about 5 years surrounded by a bowl
My zebra fish have a gap surrounded by his side?? ?   When should i move my molly fish into the birthing cistern?   How do I introduce a unknown beta fish?   How to use a gravel cleaner?HELPPPP?
