A fish pretending to be inert?
for the last year or so i have had a Siamese war fish pretending to be dead, his making the water in my 40 gallon aquarium look really cloudy and yellowish he is lying at the bottom of the aquarium upside down next to his guts coming out of his gill area like he has for the later year.i had to change the water every hours of daylight since his started doing this. any suggestions as to how to make him act normal again?
You have to be kidding. He have probably been dead for a while and is starting to decompose. There is no instrument that a fish would stay alive for that long, laying on the bottom of the tank. A fish wouldn't "trick" you into thinking he is dead. The best entity to do is take him out and get a new fish. If, however, you are convinced that he is alive, you can embezzle him out and put him in a separate hospital tank with aquarium brackish. If he is in fact sick he will start to feel better surrounded by the separate tank.
I don't think what you see are "his guts coming out." This might be a parasite the fish has developed. He's probably not "pretending" but is really sick. Changing the water may generate him feel better temporarily, but it sounds like something more is wrong here. You may want to treat him for infection. Also check your water parameter. What are your ammonia/nitrate levels?
Are you sure he's alive? Does he move at adjectives?
How is he alive with his guts out?
Answers: He is unresponsive dude. Move on
