A funeral for a fish?

I had a beta for 3 years. He was as important to me as my cat. When I go home today I found him dead within his tank. I don't want to flush him down the toilet. What am I to do to dispose of his beloved scaly corpse? And, please don't be a retard and talk smack around my dead fish.
put him in a matchbox and bury him

btw its betta not beta
Sorry for your loss, but I am celebrate the life of your Betta - he had a super long life near someone who obviously cared for him so well. I still bury my animals contained by the earth (earth to earth - my thing), anyway - move about ahead - say a prayer - do what you feel you must do to satisfy your inevitability to let the little one "go" and that you loved him so very much. You are kind..

PS: To the thumbs down dude to Fish Man's input - using a matchbox: a matchbox is a apt "home" in the earth for this little "soul", much better than a toilet.
put him contained by a small box then did a hole by a pretty tree & bury the box.

you could also decorate the box too write his describe on it, draw a picture.

put him in a baggie in the freezer till your ready to bury him. But whether you live somewhere where it gets cold in the winter I propose you bury him soon, so the ground doesn;t freeze because then you have to wait to bury him till spring

sorry for your loss..
My little girl, 9, got a fish from the honourable. We explained to her that it may not last the week. We got the fish when she was 3. It of late died a week ago. It was "part" of the fam. I went and got a cigar box, put the fish within and she and her sister said a few words before we buried it in the backyard. It was such a exquisite ceremony; I wore a suit, the wife wore a black dress, and the girls wore black dresses also. I have the whole thing on my digi cam. for prosperity.
Cremate it.

Cremation is the process of reducing fish remains to basic elements contained by the form of bone fragments through flame, heat, and vaporization.
I'm sorry your fish died. I would never flush my molly down the toilet. I've have funerals for fish before with music and speeches, just close to a human's funeral. It's important to do that sort of thing.
Im sorry to hear something like your loss.

Why dont you bury him in the backyard or in a park under a shady tree? or practical a pond?
If you do bury it be certain to put a rock over the spot so you remember where it be, you can even decorate the rock with paint pens contained by memorial.
put him within a plastic bag no water and let him dry out them hes preserved
Bury him in the garden and put a nice plant on the top so that you know where he is, that's what we did for my dog. :(
Some people a short time ago have no heart do they? A long-time pet of any kind is special. I don't know what I will do when my eel dies either- He's a pretty good sized guy (over a foot long right immediately and growing) and I can't imagine what I will do except cry a lot and probably net my husband bury him for me because I won't be able to do it myself. I'm sorry about your fish. You've got several honest suggestions so far- do what makes YOU feel best. I say perhaps a small pretty box, bury in the yard and a decorated rock signpost like someone before said- that's sweet.
Natural burial at sea, a fishes dream...
Answers:    You could get a potted plant with a largish pot and bury him in attendance.

Bury him outside somewhere.

You could flush him, and make a memorial to keep instead.
I bury my dead fish (rare occurrence) under my plants.
Aww, sorry to hear about this. I understand where you're coming from. I cried for days after my fish died and everyone thought I be nuts. You could put it in a box and bury it in your back patio.
bury it
I would bury it. Its best for him, and this may sound any sad or a happy thing, he will aid new life to grow on his behalf!
Why do my plants keep hold of dying?   Guppy within breeder box?   How can I gain rid of algae?   HELP! GOT ANGEL FISH WITH A WHITE EYE, LOOKS LIKE IT'S GONNA POP OUT?
