Beta fish problem! =(?
Last night my beta was fine, this morning he is struggling not to flip onto one side. I look at him and he's got a really puffed out stomach...the part right behind his gills where his front fins are.
I'm really worried...I don't know what's wrong beside him!
Fish some times ususally lose the ability to swim up-right. You can havesurgery done by a fish expert, but would only reccomend that for a show fish; it is expensive. Good Luck!
Well, near are a lof of factors that could contribute to this.
*Did you just get the fish? (Betta are kept contained by cramped conditions in pet stores and are often neglected. Before buying a fish from any store, the general form should be checked over by a well trained eye.)
*What are the water conditions? (though Betta are sold in tiny fish bowls surrounded by pet stores and are so popular because you can keep them in a vase or small bowl, they should really be surrounded by a minimum of a 5 gallon, heated 72-82 degreed F, filtered aquarium. In a 10 gallon heated, filtered aquarium if beside any other fish such as neon tetras, dianos etc.)
*When was the last time you did a water revision? (Betta kept in vases of bowls need more frequent hose changes that fish in aquariums.)
*When was the end time he was fed (Betta do not need much food, but should be offered a variety)
*How antediluvian is the fish? (When the betta fish are in the shops they are around 6 months old the average lifespan depends whether it is wild or breed surrounded by captivity in the wild about 1 year and when breed surrounded by captivity around 2-3 years)
*Did you over feed the fish? (Double Tail bettas will have swimbladder problem if you over nurture them. They will start floating and may take up to several weeks to recover! So with DTs, it is even more central to not overdo it when it comes to food. Also when feeding live food, especially live brine shrimp, you must be aware that bettas will not stop eating until adjectives the live food has been gobbled up. You will find them unresponsive the next day. So only nurture reasonable amounts of live food to your bettas, because in your fishroom, you are the only one next to any ability to refrain things from getting out of hands. Your bettas can't and won't. They'll drink themselves to death. Literally.)
How long have you had the fish? If it's brand different, it may have already been sick or in shock from the move.
How mature is the fish? It may just be done.
What are your tank parameters? Is it heated? Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates?
Has anything/anyone unwholesome been near the tank? Maybe a mitt went in the tank that have lotion on it?
Overfeeding? Underfeeding? Any other fish?
oh no!
i have 4 bettas, sweetie. I can help you! Well for one thing- how long and how old have you have your betta? Do you have a filter? How much have you fed him? He might be bloated- his scales may be a whitish color. Don't nurture him for a day, but here- a really good medicine. Take a green pea and cook it. Peel bad the outer skin and pop out the 2 sections. Take one and cut it into a small piece about the size of his eye. Drop it in the tank/bowl. My betta is also currently constipated and is salutary. Here- go to bettatalk. it's great!
Answers: Did you know ? Water from the sink has chlorine in it that will kill fish.
I propose you Boil some water to get the chlorine out. Then put it in the fridge, till its completely cold. Then measure that little guy out and put him inside the new water.
** you Dont want the water to be TOOOOOO cold.**
do the scales stick out at all?

is he paler or anything?
how long have you had him?
what size bowl/tank?

how regularly do you do water changes?
what do you feed him, how much, and how repeatedly?
a little more info please :)
did you just get it second night? Sometimes when you put a fish into a cold fishtank the fish will most likley end up dying.Usually when you buy a beta fish from a pet store they dont look healthy at adjectives to me. They keep them in this small little container which proberly isnt to healthy any. they need room to move. The only thing i can enunciate is that you either bought it sick or the water is to cold for it
is your betta (not beta) contained by a heated filtered aquarium
