Bettas why are they so mistreated?
are people too dumb to do their own research or do they just not care
bettas are tropical fish they involve heaters
bettas produce waste they need filters
bettas come from substantial rice paddies they need atleast 2.5 gallons
I Love Them XD
People guess that they can get by by the bare minimum. They don't feel similar to taking the money and getting a nice tank with filtration and heating. They will also complain that it take up to much space. But if it really takes up too much space than they shouldn't even get a fish! Also, that they are slothful. They do not want to take the time setting it up but if they did take the time, within the long run it would actually save them time because they wouldn't have to metamorphosis 100% of the water every 5 days.
Answers: Lets see: Most people think that the pet store know everything, which they should be smarter than they are.
If you look at it like this maybe you will se why: bettas are in tiny cups at the pet store, which lead them to conlusions that a bowl is big enough. Also, the tropical fish are in heated tanks and bettas aren't. Bettas are also exceptionally pretty and a lot of people don't have the time or money to return with a tank. They totally should't be treated like this though! Hope I helped!
Most people trust fish shops, most (not all) fish shops want your money. If you aren't prepared to give a fish (or any animal) a decent standard of vivacity leave it in the store.
I'd also say whether a store mistreats its fish go elsewhere, don't give them your money.
I think they mistreat them because they know their very hardy fish, culture have been keeping them in small containers for a long time and they cogitate thats what they can be in. I think its very miserable to do so. I have a betta in a 10 gallon with a electric fire and all the accessories, I wouldn't put him in something smaller consequently that.
Many people are ignorant, stubborn, and stingy. And lots probably don't trouble enough.
What is worse is goldfish! Sure, the don't need heaters, but relations keep them in tiny 1-gallon bowls but really they should be in filter, aerated, 20-30 gallon tanks!
