Can I add on a black presence to my container?
I have a 55 gallon tank.
I currently have 4 guppies (2 manly 2 female), 4 platies, 6 Neon Tetras, 2 clown loaches, and a male betta.
i was wondering if it would be a honest addition to my tank?
BTW! THE CLOWN LOACHES WILL BE MOVED TO A BIGGER TANK WHEN THEY GET OLDER IN A FEW YEARS! so pleaseeee spare me the lecture(: thanks.
give support to me out ur advice would be appreciated!
since it is a larger fish and can be agressive, i would say no. It would probably put away your other fish.
A Black Ghost get very large (up to 2ft in the wild) and ideally wants at least a 75 gallon. They are also nocturnal hunters and as they grow you'd find your guppies, platys and neons going missing.
They're best kept with larger diplomatic non-nippy fish that are not overly active, not with your current set up.
Answers: When a ghost knife (I'm assuming this is what fish you are refuring to) get large enough, he will prey upon the small fish in your cistern. He problaby wont have to be much bigger than the size most are sold as before he begins doing this. Also, they bring back very large, 12-18 inches if properly care for. Honestly, he isn't a good match for your tank.
You of course can and when you do it will soon become your favourite tankmate. They can be quite shy at first and will often cart a week or two to become completely comofortable. Once they are they are soon buzzing around, back and forth. Lovely fish - go for it!
Black Ghost Knife fish are pretty hard to look after, and they can get hold of to be well over 30cm! they tend to not like other fish either, so i dont regard as that a black ghost knife is really suited for your tank. whether you want an interesting but unusual pet, why not try getting an axolotl? they are awesome pets XD i have two. they are pretty easy to look after, but dont put anything else within the tank with them, as other fish especially guppies tend to bite at the axolotls gills and skin. although if you are planning to breed guppies, the axolotls love to eat them as a treat ;) hope i helped
yea i dont see y not
