Coral Beauty Angel fish compatibility?
I just bought, acclimated and put in my new Coral Beauty Angel fish into my 55gal container. I have two clown fish, a firefish, and a yellow tang. Immediately after I put the Coral into the tank the Tang started to attack the comeliness by swimming up next to the Coral and batting it with the spike on its tail. I hold managed to separate them and they are now occupying contrary sides of the tank.
Do Tangs and Coral Beauties not get along? Is the tang just overly territorial because here is a new fish in the tank? Can the tang eradicate my beauty?
Please, if you have any understanding of the compatibility of these two fish, let me know what you think.
Thank you!!
Tangs aren't customarily that aggressive. It does have the capability of killing the Coral Beauty. If you dont enjoy another tank to put it in, I would try and take one of them backbone to the pet store. Just watch them for a while, maybe the Tang will accept him. If he does, trade name sure the Tang is allowing the Coral Beauty to eat.
They are both compatible.
The Coral Beauty is a very fast fish and once acclimatated it will just out run the pallid tang. Yellow Tangs prefer more open spaces to swim, and since right now the Coral beauty does not know your tank's remodel very well, it is being made into an unforced target.
I would suggest the following:
1. Turn off lights and let the fish settle within.
2. Try covering the tank with a blanket, again to ensure absolute blackout.
Incase this does not work out:
3. Change the rock-work. Again turn sour the lights for the day.
(this will change all your fish's usual positions)
i had 2 coral beauty angels
yellow tang
hippo/regal tang
volitna lionfish
and a couple of maroon clowns in 90 gallons and they were ok lacking any fighting
try to re-arrange the decorationlive orck if you have or anything yo have there they will get alonge fine in recent times give thme a week to get use ot each other
same thin happen when i added my blue tang in my tank.. but it ends by the next daytime...
just turn off all the lights until morning...
and after when you wake up, check on them...
hopefully the battering will stop...
oh, btw! when you wake up, you quickly nurture them! its good to let them eat and tolerate them see each other eating... it will help them preserve their minds on something else and will help them know that being near to respectively other is "SAFE"
Answers: What you are dealing with is nil more than normal territorial behavior. Yellow tangs aren't particularly aggressive and once the unusual pecking order is established, things should calm down just fine. As far as the Tang butchery the Coral Beauty; is possible but not very likely. There really is no reason to be concerned just about separating them.
