Could I own a pregnant fish?

hi, ive had these tropical fish for ages.
two red ones, one blue, one orange, two stripy ones and 3 harlequins. the two red ones mated and have two babys. (which btw are so cute)
one of the stripy ones now looks as if it might be pregnant. its had a small pregnant similar to bump on it and its grown bigger ive never really noticed it but today i did.

also, is there anything you hold to do to look after baby fish?
i am having the same problem..so can someone look at this please...i need abet As Soon As Possible; but make sure you answer his question first formerly mine. There's the link to my question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
i would take them (babies) out of the reservoir. their parents will probably eat them.
also, to take care of fry, you enjoy to have a high water temp. they obligation special food (i use VERY crushed up flakes) and a tank with a sponge filter. If you don't have a reservoir, use a bowl with plants, they like to sit on them, and perform more or less 50% water changes every either daylight. (i still recommend a sponge filter)
just don't let the fish eat them
take the babe fish out
Answers:    It sounds as if you're talking something like livebearers (platys, guppies, mollies, etc) which can be "pregnant" . You can usually tell if their stomach is bigger than normal, except if you hold balloon mollies because they always look like that. Also they will have a small spot which is call a gravid spot under their belly by the tail, it turns blackish. After they have the babies, you call for to keep them in a seperate breeder net or box which can attach right inside the reservoir otherwise the parents may very well eat them. It have happened to me. I usually would wait until the babies are big plenty to not get swallowed to let them out on their own. Or you can put all the babies together contained by a small tank of their own and let them grow in here. Make sure you feed them everyday and make certain the food is small enough for them to be able to get contained by their mouths, partially change the water at most minuscule once a week but i would do it more often than that to ensure they grow and are healthy.
