Fish reservoir filter piece replacement?
I recently changed the blue filter on my AquaTech 10-gallon filter pump, and noticed that the thicker, hard sponge-like element was really dirty, so I threw it away, thinking I could get a hot one at the store. I easily found the new blue filters, but the black sponge ones be nowhere to be found. I am now noticing that my water is consistently slightly murkier, and I want to return with this new piece without buying a completely new filter pump. Help?
ok just so understand when filter sponges and medium trays get dirt you just need to verbs them in old tank marine. it will remove most of the gunk on them so you don't have to replace the hard to find parts like the one you are looking for.
whether you can not find the blank sponge you can create one.
they are not easy to find so i suggest you look at the different sponges available sponge types available and cut down a sponge to fit you filter unit. ive made this same mistake. and own done the exact thing im suggesting to u
I detestation to be like this, but when you don't read and save your instructions that come near things like this you end up in a situation close to you are in right now...but I am going to try to help you out because that's what I try to do when I answer question on here. On the instructions it tells you to not replace the bio-filter and it is not considered a replacement part. You won't know how to find it in a store anywhere most likely. You can contact their customer service at this phone # (800) 322-1266. Monday thru Friday from 8-5 Pacific Time. Maybe they can send you a replacement or notify you what to do. Hope this helps.
Answers: Go to a different store, petco will enjoy different than walmart, every store seems to have little bit different selection.
you cant buy the piece you threw away.you only entail to replace the blue cartridges because they contain activated carbon which over time can become less effective and eventually release toxins stern into the water column..you will have to make a replacement or buy a trial power filter. however i think you could leave that part out and be fine.
