Fish Question. About Betas?

Ok, I had my cell phone in my hand and I do close to my betas cistern and then my beta flipped out of his tank. Anyone know why this happened? Thanks.

you need to procure a lid for 2 reasons

1. bettas are topical (need aquatic heaters) and they surface breathers. having a lid keep the warm air in as they approaching the air to be the same temp as the water

2. bettas step

Betta fish jump. Mine freaks out when I feed him and leaps out of the wet to attack my hand. Yours probably did something similar.

He should be okay since you got him right back surrounded by the water. Buy a lid for his tank (if you don't already have one) to take home sure he doesn't jump out while you're not there.
