Freshwater Angelfish support, please?
I bought a female and a male freshwater Angelfish, and the woman in the store - who is one of my friends, told me that they are mate, and were going to spawn in about 28 days. I be excited, took them home, and waited. Three days ago, I found clear, white ball-type things which were clustered vertically around the heating system. I assumed they were eggs, and got excited. The next daytime, I found a few more on the heater.
So, I waited, and they hadn't moved. They look like eggs, but they look too small to be, some smaller than others, and they're not yellowish, approaching normal Angelfish eggs, and they seem like they've open, and there's nothing in there. Basically, they look resembling eggish air bubbles, and they're stuck to the glass, blowing with the atmosphere pump from the filter.
So, I am wondering if these are just... pre-mature eggs, the sort of thing next to new couples in Angelfish, and was this a spawn? If so, what roughly speaking next time, will they be normal eggs?
Answers: Those eggs have not be fertilized properly. That is why they are white. The first couple batches may not be fertile, but after a few tries they will be yellow by day 3.
Ask me whether you need help with the fish! I raise and bred 1 pair of angels (I didn't intend to at first, but I started getting 'surprises' on my filter: eggs!)
It does not seem right that eggs would be laid on two different days. Did you do a water devolution just before you discovered the eggs? If so then it might be nouns bubbles from the cooler water that you put in. If indeed they are a pair later they should spawn in another ten days to two weeks (if conditions are right for them). Do a large water modification (30%) a couple times a day with dechlorinated water (no chloramine either) and they will come into breeding conditions sooner. You also enjoy t make sure to give them a obedient diet (preferably with some live foods) When they are ready to spawn the tubes will come down and you will be able to see the difference between the males tube and the females tube, the feminine tube will be thick and blunt whereas the males will be thinner and more pointed. Good luck!
