Glass blind size grill?

When you buy a glass canopy, do the size specifications take into consideration where on earth the canopy will sit? I found a 30 x 13 canopy, but that size would sit at the very top of my aquarium and would not if truth be told fit inside the aquarium. Would it fit?

Answers:    There is usually a little lip where the lid will sit on the top of the reservoir, you need that measurement. You don't want it to sit on the top of the tank because it will slide around, but you don't want it to small or it will dribble in the tank, that is the judgment for the lip on the top of the tank. A 30 inch tank s probably a 29 gallon, I bought a 30 x 12 top for mine and it fit the opening sound. You may just want to purchase the top, find out from where you are buying it from if they will adopt returns if it doesn't fit.
