Goldfish oblige required ASAP?

I thought my fish had ich a few days ago, so I put medicine in the container and increased the temperature to 26degC, but my little goldfish still has spots on her tail. Her tail is also bright red and ragged at the edges.
it sounds like your fish have an infectious deise, clean out the tank and and objects in it, buy some TONIC SALT (a unprocessed salt from the pet store that helps get redof things) and sprinkle some contained by her tank hope she gets better

(I hope you didn't click that first link re a video - its a virus).

Anyhow, salt won't cure your fish (all it does is effect the fish's osmoregulation, its not illusion powder, although it can have some effect on the ich parasite).

The red streaks and ragged fins are a sign of a bacterial infection (the red streaks are a sign of septiciemia).

What kind of reservoir is your fish in? Test your water parameters, adjectives these problems including the ich is caused generally by bad wet quality - healthy water = sound fish. Improve things here with increased partial water changes and form sure your tank is big enough for a Goldfish - they find marketed for small tanks when they actually want 20g+ for one. As well as the filtration being more than adequate.

Complete the course of treatment for ich, maintain the water healthy. Once the ich treatment has completed and the sea quality is excellent, give the fish a break of a few days as well as a river change again, then start an anti-bacterial medication course. Never mix meds.
Answers:    First you hold only treated the fish for a few days. Ich takes 7 days to 14 days to totally leave the cistern. Keep treating for the full 7 days.

If the instructions did not say to raise the temperature or add salt don't do it.

Raising the temperature to 78 (26) is doing nought for your fish or to rid the tank of the parasite but it is putting more stress on your fish.

Salt as well should never be added to goldfish tanks. Salt interfears near the fish's ability to process water which is used for organ and digestive functions in your fish.

Remember you inevitability to remove the carbon filter media when treating.

Also, maintaining a 25% weekly water modification and cleaning will help. Ich is a parasite naturally occuring in the wet source. It will only attack fish that are overly stressed which can be from poor water conditions, poor diet and poor immune systems.

Stick to the weekly maintenance and maintain treating for ich until it is gone. Your fish's tail will clear if doing this. Also, you do not want to treat both ich and antibacterials at the same time. Ich will kill your fish faster. You will see clearing the ich and the container will really help.
