Help! 50% dampen renovate. Fish distressed?

After my fish cycle completed about 18 days ago, I was very ecstatic and so were my glofish (not goldfish). Yesterday I did close to a 50% water change beside gravel vacuum since they had a lot of poop in within. Since then the fish look weak, distressed and are not eating. Some of them are by a hair`s breadth able to keep afloat and are "sitting" on the gravel.

I know 50% was too much and I should hold stuck to 20% water changes weekly but for now, does any one hold any insight on why this happened? Will this affect my cycle?

10 gallon tank
5 glofish.

Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
did you remember to treat the water beforehand you added it to the tank? also, you should always make certain it is close to the same temperature as what is in your cistern, other than that, I would say this is an instance where you will of late have to wait and see what happens and hope for the best, as for the food entity, you may want to stretch out their feed over the day, instead of giving them one big meal surrounded by the morning or evening, give them several smaller feedings and give them the chance to destress themselves.
A 50% water change should do Zero damage to your fish, I do them all the time.

Two possible problems.

Water conditioner? You did use it? : OK, you did, good.

Water temperature? If the warmth of the new water is different it will upset the fish. I usually donate a bit of warm water to the bucket and use a finger test to take the temp close.

Edit, water changes WILL NOT uspet your cycle or kill any germs. You can change 50% every day if you want.

I'm still going to jump for a temperature change as your problem.
It might be Temperature Shock. You can buy a flat-stick-on thermometer for a couple of bucks, and stick it to whatever container you use to refill the cistern. This makes it easy to dail in the unmarked waters temp.
You enjoy definitely killed some of you good germs. If you don't think that the fish will make it just by departure the system alone to reduce shock, go buy some bacteria from the pet shop. This will sustain you gain your cycle.
From now on, stick to the 20% changes and only vacuum your gravel weakly so you don't suck up ALL of your bacteria,
Answers:    Your fish can confidently go into shock with sudden PH changes and heat changes. Did you use a water conditioner? Whenever you change the dampen out you need to make sure that you try to clash the temperature as closely as possible and smaller, more frequent water changes can minister to soften the sudden PH changes a lager water translate might cause. But these are only guesses as I don't know how long it was since your ending water change, how much you usually adaptation out, did you clean the filter etc... I think we need a bit more information, but maintain these things in mind for the future. Hope they will recuperate okay!

Well, Ian is right, a water change will not harm the germs, but cleaning and changing the filter most certainly can. You may have started a mini cycle... do you enjoy any testers? You need to test for nitrites and amonia if it's present consequently you need to change out again until you get the level down and keep an eye on it. A mini cycle can last a week to two weeks depending on your load and size of your container. As far as the plants go, hmm, I'm glad you pulled them out because that doesn't sound good. Try to other buy your plants from an aquarium that has no fish in it and is in a completely different system from the other aquariums, and next make sure you wash them all right when you get them home before you put them within your aquarium. Now back to your fish, I would start testing and see what the water looks similar to. You also need to remember that usually the longer you go lacking chaning the water the PH will be pushed down. When you then suddenly administer a large dampen change, the PH is usually higher whether it's tap water, and the sudden change can shock your fish. This is a opportunity but not a certainty. I have a smaller tank that have 4 parts to the filter. Every week I take out one bit of it and rinse it out in aquarium water. The subsequent week I take out another one so that way the filter is not cleaned all at once. I hope I help but there are certainly more knowledgeable ancestors on here than me that may even be able to tell you what you might have brought contained by with those plants? I would test and then come rear and ask again with your results. Good luck!
If you new it was too much, why did you do it? I think they are only a bit shocked, did you add "tap water conditioner"?
