Help! Is it usual for a GSP to bloat really big, stash its fins, and stay at the bottom of the reservoir?

Just minutes ago my green spotted puffer was bloated, it looked really weird, I couldn't see its fins and he was in recent times kind of floating at the bottom. I tried to catch his attention by moving the water or something and he wouldn't move. After several minutes he suddenly "woke up" and started swimming usually and now he looks fine.
Is this type of behavior normal?
Answers:    Something distressed your fish, that is not commonplace behavior. Check all your water parameters. If you've added saline, perhaps you went too fast. The evolution to brackish water should be gradual, like over a period of weeks.
No, this is not average. Even though they are puffer fish, they are not supposed to be puffing up unless they are VERY spooked, or if they are being attacked, in defense. Did you stroke on the glass, or drop something in the room that the tank is within, that might have scared him? When these fish puff up, it takes seriously of effort out of them, and as well, it stresses them out very much, so it is significantly recommended that you do not try to scare him just for fun. If he is swimming normally right presently, he was probably just spooked, and needed a bit to gather his strength wager on. Good luck!
