Help beside my current Beta Fish?

i have a few questions:
1)What is the best kind of food to use for ur beta?
2)Is nearby anyway to find out how old it is?
3)Is a filter thing required?
4)do i obligation gravel?
5)how do i keep him alive for a long time?
trust me, i have this betta kit and its the best cistern you could use for your betta fish, i got this tank yesterday and it comes with the following items

betta reservoir
gravel
betta conditioner
fake plant
betta food

and when you get it, it tells you how to keeping for your betta
just add water, hose CONDITIONER, and your betta. It will tell you how much conditioner to put in there. trust me this is a pious betta kit. you can get this kit at petsmart and petco ONLY! its call marina betta kit, remember that, also when you set up your tank, put it by a lamp that does not overheat, bettas prefer and call for warm water. remember the name of the tackle. marina betta kit, comes in red blue green and purple. =]
in that is no suck thing as a beTa fish so i am assuming you mean beTTa fish

1.anything with over 40% protein is virtuous. i like nutrafin betta flake

2.not really without calling the petshop and tracing all the bearing back to the breeder.

3.yes a filter is needed for all fish bettas are tropical so also need adjectives heaters

4.its a good idea because it holds good microbes.

5.keep him in a heated filtered container over 2.5 gallons with a lid

you need to set the heater to 26c

they are freshwater not brackish
1) Just regular Tropical fish food.
2) There's never a really good way to tell. Hunched hindmost says hes older.
3) Filter will help preserve the water clean, so no, but it would help alot.
4) You never NEED gravel, but it help keep the tank clean by giving a place for poop and infirm food to lie before you clean.
5) With proper keeping he will live a long healthy life. Things that help are, a nice big container, filter, heater, fishy treats like brine shrimp, bubble maker for oxygen surrounded by the water. Do a 30% water change every 4-6 days (if the single fish you have is the betta)

Do you have...
The drops that take the clorean out of the river?

DON'T GET TO MALES. THEY WILL FIGHT! BEST IT TO JUST HAVE ONE!

Don't mix him with barbs. They and fin nippers!

HOPE I HELPED :) :) :) :) :) :D
Hikari (Gold) betta food is the best. I've notice my bettas
like their pellets as opposed to flakes of other brands.
Whatever you choose, try to take a floating food since bettas
are notorious top feeders.
You might also want to look into something like bloodworms,
but I've never used them myself.

I am not sure on how to bring up to date how old a betta is, but to keep him
alive for a long time, make certain not to feed him too much
(only once every 2 days) and do weekly water changes.

Gravel is far-reaching. Bettas also love plants, so those are good to get.
A filter is good, but bettas can survive in need one. Remember,
if you go without one, remember to hang on to on top of the water changes!
I have had a couple and two right immediately... the food depends on what it ate at the store. Mine loves my regular tropical fish food... (great for the color, hes so vibrant). But my other one loves the betta pellets. By the way don't think approximately putting any guppies or anything as a "friend" with him. Not a good idea. I tried that mete out i thought he was bored and lonely. Bettas live actually a long time ive had mine for over 2 years in a minute with no signs of aging. Now don't freak him out, get him a nice cozy little half to 1 gallon aquarium. I enjoy tried to put mine in like a 5 gallon and they got freaked and died. But don't put him within one of those i can barely move around in this cup thing.. That's torture. Yes afford him a little gravel. And depending on your tank size give him some hiding room beside putting plants in there. 1 will do just fine. If you want to maintain him alive the longest, keep the tank lite off during the afternoon and on during the nite. Also clean his tank every 2 to 3 weeks. Don't do it every week cause it will stress him out. I also don't use a lattice i use my hands to get him out. It relaxes him and his tail fins will not get caught to the lattice. Ouch... Do not put a filter in there. They are very little to verbs up. Hope this helps.
I've have many beta fish. Buy the food that says beta food and has a picture of the fish on the sign. There is no way to find out how old it is. you do not need a filter! That is the great point about beta fish. You can even buy a plant that's roots float in the water for the beta to nurture off of! Its really pretty for a center piece. Also, you don't need gravel, but if you want to get hold of gravel you can.

Beta's can get a disease called ick. It's when they get white spots on their scales. It's distinct! If you see the spots, go to the pet store and buy the treatment for it! Good Luck!
1.) My Beta loves the pellet by Tetra Beta, he also likes Blood Worms - which I give him once a week
2) The Beta I got from PetSmart have a date on the container - I think it was his b-day. If you got a Beta from the pet store the more than plausible it has reached full maturity
3) No Beta's don't call for filters - but you will have to change the river more often if you don't have a filter (like once or twice a week). Be certain to condition the water before you put your Beta in it. I hang on to my beta's water temp at 78 degrees Farenheit with a kiln and add a bit of aquarium salt to the water after it have been dechlorinated. But once again, these things aren't necessary.
4.) I don't think you enjoy to have gravel - but it makes the tank look nicer.
5.) Feed it and save it's water in top condition! Lots of love helps too!
Flake food is fine for Betas.
The length of the fins gives some indication - the longer the elder -for males only.
No filter is required. The are brackish water fish and can breath air also. - they suck bubbles.
No gravel, but they do similar to plants. Get a little water plant.
They will live a couple of years, just transformation 50% the water every month or so, and only feed one flake per daylight. They are tiny fish and don't need much food.
I feed mine Hikari Bio-gold
also for fresh I feed him prawn/shrimp eggs which I take from underneath the shrimp when I am shelling it.
Betta's are normally sold at about 6 months old
A filter is important.
As is a space heater.
The best food Atisons Betta fish food. Betta fish are carnivores.
There is no way to find out how old contained by years but in months, count its gills on one side.
The filter thing is required to help it live longer
Gravel is a smart choice, newly make sure it wont flot up, so it will stay on the bottom
To keep a long time dont touch on the glass feed daily 2 times a light of day
i reckon the best thing to do to keep your fish alive is to just nurture it well [a good make] and keep its reservoir clean preferabley use a fillter
i am not sure how to tell how old-fashioned it is and i dont think gravel is required
hope that helped
zoe babe xx
1. High quality Betta pellet such as Attison Betta Pro by Ocean Nutrition. Supplemented with live/frozen foods like bloodworm and brine shrimp as well as a weekly dose of rather cooked de-shelled pea to clean out the digestive system.

2. When they hit the stores they're usually already 8 months to a year old.

3. Yes. They are fragile tropical fish that benefit from a proper fish tank at least 5 US gallons - all filter tanks need to go through the nitrogen cycle.

4. The fish is primarily a top dweller and is not bothered by substrate choice as long as it's not sharp and does not effect marine parameters (such as coral and sea shells).

5. A large spacious container which is heated, filtered and has completed the life cycle.

Answers:    Betta's love to eat mosquito larvae which you can find at any of your local pet shops it comes contained by a small plastic can for like 4 dollars and i found mine at walmart. It sounds gross but trust me I first fed mine betta flakes and all the flakes be doing was making a smelly mess at the bottom of the tank. Once I started feeding him this larva he went nuts. Now he waits for me to feed him he comes over to the top of the cistern and waits for the food to drop in. He knows when im going to nurture him. Its the greatest thing!
no its nearly impossible to see how old your betta is unless someone has be raising it their entire life
No a filter is not required but its going to make your cleaning and repairs of the tank allot more handy it will keep your tank much cleaner vs. one next to out. But keeping in mind filters one and only go start at 5gallon sizes and then they go from within on up.
No you don't need gravel its only for decoration purposes but I love have gravel in my tank it sets the theme of my reservoir which is patriotic. I have red white and blue gravel in my cistern and my male betta is a blood red color
You should keep up with the partial hose down changes, feed only once a year or every other day, keep its water temp at room temp. resembling 70-75 degrees. * Go to www.petco.com and scroll down to the list of care sheets and type surrounded by or look up care sheets for bettas and that will give you a great idea of how to properly purloin care of your critter and the dos and donts of their world. Once you get the hang of taking nurture of it you also can pass info. on to others as they begin to ask questions around the care of bettas. good luck and have fun!
1. Tetra or Betta flakes.
2. No
3. No they do fine with out one. If you want to verbs it less I would use a filter.
4. Yes
5. Feed him once a day NOT TOO MUCH. Get a Heater. Get a Filter. Clean his tank recurrently.
1.only plain old Beta Food
2.not likely
3.no, just verbs the bowl every week. BUT make sure to leave sea out the night before so that it is exactly room warmth so that when you put the new water in it won't shock him and other keep some of the old water so that the germs mixture isn't to drastically affected!
4.no i don't think so
5. just follow the cleaning directions and you should be good.

You can also get a water conditioner that you include to the water and it will help too.

Hope this helps!!
