HELP TO MUCH INFORMATION, every site vote something different roughly glofish?
Hi I was looking into glofish and was wondering what type and size tank I should draw from? I was looking at getting around 6 of them because I am a college student and will need to bring them home. Should I win more or less? I know that they like to school and I want them to be comfortable and social. The approved site said 6 in a gallon and others said 1 fish for every two gallons. I'm so confused could someone please help?
you could get like 7 in a 10 gallon but i dont support that variety of cruelty. glo fish are really dyed zebra danios. its really sad what the fish have to go through to look approaching that. they also dont live very long as a result of it.
if you are looking for a colorful fish then look into neon tetras. they enjoy vibrant red and blue colors. really cool to watch.
the rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per 1 gallon.
but that rule can change.
if you own a 10 inch koi fish you certainly cant put it in a 10 gallon tank.
but surrounded by your situation glofish or neons tetras its ok.
good luck!
The official site is wrong. Glofish are basically Zebra Danios, near the same care needs as Zebras. They are genetically modified to own those colours.
Zebra Danios are very very active swimmers, they'd no mode have enough swimming room in a tiiiiiny 1 gallon and would be drastically likely to leap out. I wouldn't personally keep them surrounded by any less than 20 gallons, or 15 gallons at a push, long tanks not tall. That's for a group of 6 or so. Said cistern would need to be fully filtered, heated and have to enjoy completed the nitrogen cycle.
Answers: Glofish are just zebra danios. (And they aren't dyed, they're genetically modified). They call for to be kept in schools of at least 6, which can be done surrounded by a 10 gallon tank.
