How can i fix mistake beside first fish cistern?
I got a fish tank from a friend and wanted to verbs it before I put any fish into it. I asked someone from PetSmart what the best way to clean the reservoir would be. I think he said to use a little bit of clorox mixed with dampen, but I may have misheard him.
I washed the tank first beside plain hot water and then soaked the inside with the clorox solution and rinsed the container several times with hot water.
Several days later, after lettering the reservoir set up, I added two goldfish. The next day they were both unresponsive.
I want to get some more goldfish but am afraid that there is still clorox in the cistern and I don't want to harm or kill any more fish.
I have vanished the tank alone for the past several weeks with the filter running.
Any suggestion on how to solve my problem?
The tank is about 2 gallons (college student).
That tank is to small for two goldfish
bring a water token into petsmart and they'll test it for free. I don't think you should have cleaned it next to bleach, but that probably is something someone from petsmart would have said. They can tell you which values are too high or low etc and where on earth to go from there. Also, you need 2 gallons of sea per one inch of goldfish, so you probably can't keep two goldfish in there. I'd try a hardy tropical fish close to mollys or platys. They only need one gallon per one inch.
Answers: with fish you can't purely put them in the water and let them be. Cities make a payment chlorinates and other chemicals to the water which will kill the fish when you add them into their nice cozy reservoir. Go to a fish store, or any pet store you need to buy some water dechlorinates i have some and every time i make the addition of more water to the tank i have to add on eight drops of the dechlorinate. Fish also need to have a certain heat if they get too cold they will die same if they capture too hot. Also air pumps with aeratingng rocks help the fish live well again too! any other question please feel free to email me
Vineger and water.
Did you dechlorinate the water? Go subsidise to petsmart and tell them everything that you did to the tank and what chemicals that you have used. Also appropriate a water sample with you and hold them test it.
