How do simese war fish breed?
i was told i cant put a female with my mannish because they will fight...so how do they breed if you cant put them together??
i dont want to breed them just curious.
No, it's if you put two males together they will argue... possibly to the death.
When a twosome of betta are both in the mood to breed, they will, but it's purely a 'one night stand' and the male will chase the womanly away after.
It comes back to their behaviour within the wild.
In their natural habitat the males stake out a small territory and keep it from other betta. There is little actual fighting, mostly bluster and chasing. The strongest betta get the best breeding spots. The females just swim roughly speaking as they like. If they aren't ready to breed the males chase them off.
Eventually the females obtain heavy with eggs and hook up with a mannish. They mate and the male collects the eggs and puts them in his bubble nest, chases the female rotten and looks after the eggs untill they hatch and swim away.
Breeding betta in captivity has to copy this process. You stipulation to get both fish into a breeding mood seperatly, then put them together to do the deed, later seperate them again after.

rice paddies are terrifically big. females won't stick around males unless they want to breed. in tanks females can't swim away so they lately end up fighting until one dies.
you can keep the together for breeding just once both are ready to breed, but they must be separated right after breeding.
Bettas are aggressive by personality, in the wild, if the manly betta wants to spawn with a female but the womanly isn't submissive, she can just swim away and hide. In captivity, you must monitor them closely when trying to get them to spawn, if the male attacks, next separate them. Most betta breeders will keep the female in a small jar, and put the jar within the tank with the male for a few days, so the mannish can get use to her and watch his reaction, whether he makes a bubble nest, then it's a good sign. If he constantly flares at her, later they will probably fight. Even after the spawn, the male may try to kill her or vice versa (I've have a female kill a male before).
Answers: You with the sole purpose put them together when both fish are ready for breeding. The male has to enjoy built his bubblenest and the female should have a swollen belly and stripes on her body. Any other times they'll box and chase each other, some tough females can give it as good as they receive from the males.
you can put 1 male to 2 females (male are studs lol). They should ok together, just don't put 2 males together they will argument.I've never tried it before but other people said it works.
They can fight, if the female does not adopt the male. The male is too aggressive, or there is not ample room for them to breed and raise fry successfully.
Usually they say the males of this species are highly territorial and will come to blows, usually till one of both dies.
Do A LOT of research on breeding these fish. Its not as simple as putting a male and female together, you will hold to know what to do when the fry are born in order for them to survive.
