How long does and average oscar live?
mine is about 9 and is swimming/floating upside down. He has done this 2 years ago and I got some wet treatment stuff and he survived (it was from a move). I am getting worried now though, i know its a fish but he's been next to me since my daughter was a baby. Anyway i cleaned his tank, filter etc.i hope he survives (i also didn't changeover the water, only some..just surrounded by case someone thought to try and educate me on that)
Answers: Oscars can live up to 12 years, what size tank is he surrounded by? The water needs to be tested often (for ammonia, nitites, nitrates, ph, toughness, etc), filter and water needs to be changed frequently, oscars are messy, filters should be changed at most minuscule once a month and the water once a week, for an oscar probably more. Hes probably built up a great deal of ammonia in the container and is being poisoned. You dont need to change ALL the dampen at once, and really you never should because then you'll basically have to start the intact nitogen cycle over again, you need to be changing around 20-25% at least once a week. When you right to be heard you cleaned his tank, what exactly did you do? Did you take everything out and scrub it down next to soapy water? This is starting the tank over and restarting the nitrogen cycle, and soap should never be used in the reservoir. Or did you clean just the gravel with a gravel vacuum?
give or take a few 6-7 years before i was born my mom and dad had one and one dark it jumped out because their strong and in the morning it was ded it did that adjectives the time but wasnt able to lift it up.
