How long should I dawdle until I attach more fish?
I added 3 male guppies to my ten gallon tank today. I be told I could happily house six. How long do I have to wait until I can join more fish? Do the others have to be guppies? The tank it already cycled.
aww i love guppies :)
add your subsequent few in about a week and a half.
no you dont enjoy to have guppies. you can get mollies or platies or any other smallish fish.
good luck
The rule of thumb is about 1" of fish for every gallon of sea. They don't have to be all guppies, it's good to own a bottom dweller to clean up all the food the guppies miss, I would get a coryadoris. That will grow to be in the order of 2 inches, guppies are about 1" apiece so you still have 5 inches to go. Get the bottom fish as soon as you want, they are hardy and loaf a week to get the others, just make certain it is not a fish that will grow to be too large and eat the guppies.
Answers: your tank is cycled to 3 fish remember, no such article as just cycled..
if you just added these fish nowadays then your tank isn't cycled..and i would wait at lowest possible 2 weeks before adding more.
if you did a fishless cycle but not tally the max at once you lost half your bacteria population, (no biggie). it can bounce back.
any way wait.2 weeks to be safe.
you could incorporate a small school of tetras if you wanted, but whether you research guppies they like salty water to live a long healthy life.
5-6 endler live bearers would be perfect, here part of the same family so the close to the same water and there greatly very colorful (males only)
good luck!
You could include more now if you wanted, but i would keep on a week or two just to make sure these guys are ok...
