How abundant fish can i hang on to surrounded by my 55gal saltwater reef reservoir ?
what type and how many. thanks.
I also have corals ( soft )
length * width= area
area/40cm= x
x/size of fish(average)
Depends on the size of the fish but I would say the most amount of fish would be around maybe 10 small fish. It is usually around 1 fish per 5 gallons. As for types you could get:
Dwarf Angelfish
Anthias
Basslets
Blennies
Some Butterflyfish
Cardinalfish
Chromis
Clownfish
Damselfish
Dartfish
Dragonets
Eels, Snowflake
Gobies
Hawkfish
Lionfish
Pipefish
Pseudochromis
Puffer, Spotted
Seahorses with no other fish
Tang, Yellow
Wrasse, Reef Safe
If I were you, I would probably achieve:
2 percula clownfish to form a pair
3 chromis that swim in a school
1 ashen tang that will help eat algae
1 sixline wrasse that will eat unwanted pests
1 goby of your choice that could stir up the sand
All of these fish are pretty trouble-free to keep and all are for the most part reef undisruptive. They will add a lot of color and interest. You could even look into more information about purchasing an anemone for your clownfish and a pistol shrimp for your goby. These are hugely interesting symbiotic relationships that form. Make sure you read a lot of information about the requests of each fish, coral, and invert before you "impulse" buy.

Answers: How abundant fish depends on the fish and the filter system. There is not set rate.
My suggestion to you would be to log on to saltwaterfish.com. Enter your tank specifics then brouse the hundreds of fish for those you like. Add them to your need list. The system will inform you of miss matched and incompatable fish and will advise you as to similar fish that can be housed with your fish.
This is your container, make it personal. If you just brouse the site, write down those you find interesting, read about the fish and desire. You will have to go with reef nontoxic fish ie no puffers here.
We can all give you advice on what WE would hold, but you are the one who has to care for the tank and promise with the problems.
