How to best verbs discolored aquarium gravel?

Algae builds up on my saltwater tank's gravel. It's too ingrained for vaccuming to work, and I'd love to know what a good solution is short of replacing it.
Answers:    Boiling does work at killing off the algae certain, and other disgusting aquarium bacteria and worms. However, boiling your gravel will probably result in leaving the algae brown and motionless, now hardened into the pores of the gravel too. I had crushed coral gravel, and algae grew inside the small pores on it, I ended up buying brand new gravel and keeping the crushed coral from my tank in the back of my motor for traction in the winter if i get stuck.
Hi,
In direct to clean it you need to remove it from the tank. The best route so people have told me is to get an outmoded saucepan and boil the gravel. The algae will be killed and so will no grow again.
