I bought two drawf feminine hamsters from one and the same container. we look at them copious times and never saw a problem. i ?
mean our visits to the pet shop. we took them home set them up within a nice 10 gallon tank with food and water and a place where on earth they can run, but my wife told me they are fighting and not sleeping together.
foolish!! you really shouldn`t put two hamsters together.. they will fight to the death!
Litter mates or not, adult hamsters often times cannot be housed together they will encounter! You will either need to get another round up or get rid of a hamster. Hamsters are very independent creatures and like their space. In the unrepressed they do not live with other hamsters they like to live alone. Good luck!
Well what do you expect? new coop, new territory, new food, untried toys to fight over, just like sisters do
this being a place for fish however sounds to me you now have to masculine hamsters and very little territory.
Answers: Hamsters are solitary animals; they prefer to live alone and can be very territorial (both females and males), especially when they return with older. You need to either buy another coop or divide the tank in half (most pet stores market dividers) and separate them as soon as possible or return one to the pet store. The fighting will just get worse disappointingly. Sometimes when they are young they won't show territory issues or they will only affray for a few seconds which is why you didn't see ant problems at the store, but adults will fight. I work at a pet store and we see the occasional scuffle among our hamsters in attendance.
Just drown one, and your problem is solved.
hamsters fight...They aren't supposed to be loving...That's the style they are.
Just get an aquarium divider and let them have 5 gallons respectively to themselves.
