I changed my fish to a bigger reservoir and they maintain slit and closing their mouth adjectives the time?
I change the fish tank and the filter to a bigger one Aquaclear 70 plus the older filter an private 15, i changed them 2 days ago, and they stil do that, my fish tank is a glns tank so i have 85 glns of filter and 40 glns of hose, i didnt quite cycle the new tank, does anybody know why they do that
there are better people than me to reply this question but from experience I know that you should have treated the water prior to introducing the fish to avoid shock.
They are adjusting to the different PH level of the new hose down. They could get over it, they could get worse. For future reference, I would save a gallon or two of your old water surrounded by case your fish have a hard time beside the new water. That way whether they look ill you can save their lives. Always check the temperature, pH horizontal, and sodium levels of your water before putting your fish surrounded by.
Your fish keeps opening and closing his or her mouth because fish are eating the king of germs within its tank and i heard that fish do that because they taste and use their sences. BTW fish hold to open their mouth all fish do that anywhere anytime so its like their commission lol.
the reason your fish open and close their mouth is because the are breathing in the wet, if they don't open their mouth they will suffocate and die... also every time they open their mouth their heart beat, and if you want them to stay alive please let them open their mouth, and i give attention to you just wasted a whole bunch of money on useless fish container stuff
Answers: If the tank wasn't cycled that may be the problem. You should test the water everyday for a couple weeks (because the spikes can arise everyday and unexpectedly) and do a 30-50% water change if you discern any spikes in ammonia or nitrites. Also try to get ahold of some used aquarium water, gravel, or better on the other hand, a used filter brushed off and shaken into your tank. You need to capture a good supply of bacteria in that reservoir or the fish may die if the tank is cycling with them surrounded by it.
Does he have a large enough oxygenated system? may requirement a bigger filter. just ebcause a filter COMES with a system doesn't always be set to it is the right one. (Experience with that.) Also, try an oxygen rock of some sort. Ask the local pet store.
Um, apart from what the ppl above me already said,
remember that when you move your fishies into a new tank of water dont forget to append some of their old water in. Filter it whether you want, clean it, but it really helps them adapt whether you add some of that in.
Maybe 1/4 to 1/5 of your new marine..
