I have purchased an arowana its going on for 10 months outdated. I want to ask what is the true color of this fish? ?
The certification name is Green but the color is Gold its about 100bucks please serve me determine. Because there is another arowana about 80 bucks the name is malaysian golden but the color is resembling silver. I AM CONFUSED OF ITS COLOR. THANKS.
If you if a scientific name it would be much more revealing, but then whether you had the name you could just look it up surrounded by the Baensch Atlas or online. Check with the local fish club and see if they can help you out or investigate on Google for fish sites, this one is pretty good:http://www.fishchannel.com/ . Other than that without a picture to help out at hand is no way to be 100% accurate, even with a photo it can be mis-identified. You are of course aware that Arrowanas receive in exess of 3 feet in length?
The shade of arowana is green which is referred in the ticket. You will always get the gold look of it contained by your tank. Malayasian golden arowana will be always in silver colour. Go for green whether you want gold and for gold if you want silver.

For the price that you paid for, and since it came near a certificate, it is most likely going to be a Green Arrowana. Amongst the Asian Arrowana is the Green is the cheapest.
I do not understand why the Malaysian Golden is cheaper still because the Malaysian gold ingots Arrowanas usually refer to the Golden Crossbacks which come from Peninsular Malaysia and usually cost thousands of dollars.
Another point you should know is that for the Golds, Red-tail Golds and Reds etc etc, the colours only start to develop at around 3years of age, so nearly all varieties of arrowanas you buy will be mostly silver and indistinguishable to the uninitiated.
Either way, they are delicate fish and very interesting, majestic pets.
