I own a gold ingots fish he is 9 yrs hoary and sick what can we do?
he has a whit coat all over his body and eyes, he is tilting and barley breathing. we got brand new fish's a week ago and 6 died, did he get sick from them because he was always alone until final week with the new ones. what can we do?
First of adjectives take a sample of water to an adjectives shop or pet store for testing if you don't have a oral exam kit. How big is your tank and does it have a filter?
Buy some Melafix and put about 2 teaspoons in the water where on earth it is but before that try to change most of the water near cleaner clearer water and then put that Melafix in as ably as the Pimafix both will help cure the fish and keep the fungus off of the fish. Also depending on how big your cistern is no matter what people and pet stores say buy a filter for it and whether its a ten gallon tank get a 20-30gallon filter and get a nouns pump with an air stone both of those will help out your fish and also hang on to checking the water with a freshwater test tools and keep the fish with those meds for a week and with the filter and nouns pump going the oxygen is depleated from your tank and your fish needs air
Answers: One of the new fish most feasible introduced an infection in your tank. That can be a few things, either a columnaris infection, which is bacterial thus need an antibiotic like Maracyn Two to treat it.

Or, I think it sounds more like it's a parasite infection, I'm thinking along the lines of chilodonella. Here's a knit with symptoms and treatment options for that:

Or a costia infection:

What I would do right now, make a payment some salt to the tank. 1 tablespoon per 5 US gallons. You can use aquarium salt, rock saline, kosher salt, sea salt, even plain hoary table salt-contrary to what everyone says it's safe in that small of a dosage. Just incorporate that as soon as you can till you can get some meds. I wouldn't rely on it to treat the parasites, but it can help for a time bit.
Get to the store as soon as you can, and get an ich medication that contains both malachite green and formalin. I'm not sure which one contains both of those since I don't use those meds, maybe Quick Cure or Rid Ich(?), read the sticky label though. Add that to the tank for treatment.
I would also pick up some Maracyn Two, and when you finish the treatment for the parasites, do a round of antibiotics as well, since bacterial infections are adjectives with parasite infections. Watch and see if there's any improvement near the parasite meds. I really think from what you said, that that's what you're dealing with-but I could be wrong and it could be that columnaris infection.
If he's laying at the bottom with labored breathing, that's not correct, and honestly I'd be surprised if he makes it past the parasite treatment. You academic the hard way, like most of us do, other always always quarantine all clean fish in a separate tank for at least 2 weeks, some say aloud 4 weeks. I also treat all my new fish with a round of
potassium permanganate, and medicated antibacterial and antiparasitic food during that time. A unfinished 10 gallon tank with a filter and heater is adjectives that's needed for that. Good luck!
Most race don't know about this except for the real fish experts.
Normally, when your fish get sick, it's because of a lack of hydrogen nitride. Strangely enough, you can normally find this chemical surrounded by Windex.
If your fish is feeling sick, I recommend that your pour approximately 2 fl oz, or about a quarter of a cup, per gallon in your fish's container. Hopefully within about two days, he'll be feeling better.
I hope your fish get better.
