I call for serve from oranda owners?
I bought a red cap oranda 3 months ago when it was only 1 inch. Now its 2.5 inch and its wen go from red to dark orange and now 3/4 of the wen is clearish white or ginger.
I heard this is just normal growth...
For adjectives you oranda keepers that had orandas since it was small or a tot does the wen change color for wen growth, then come back to red?
Is this majority?
ALSO my water test are perfect everything nought and 10 nitrates and 7.6 ph. So water quality and tank size is no problem. Oranda act normal like it always did no unusual behaviors.
I might treat with melafix if u guys tell me to.
Answers: no treatment is needed. They can walk through color changes and it may or may not go back to red. You can try feed a goldfish color food. One with beta carotine in it to enhance the red coloring.
No need to verbs at all. The changing colour of ur oranda's wen is normal as it is growing it is going through colour progress. The colour can vary from red to black, orange or white. As ur oranda grows its wen will grow and there will be lots of colour cash so u need not to worry, and don't unnecessarily give treatment.
