I so quality decieved?
Can you believe about 3 months ago I bought a chinese algae eater thinking it was an otocinclus. I read that CAE are quite aggressive and terrifying. I feel decived, I wanted it to ea algae, this CAE wont even do that, annoying or what. The shop keeper, probably didn't enjoy a clue, and I didn't even know! Can someone tell me about this CAE?

thats pretty much all you need to know
It is possible that that particular fish was mixed within with a shipment of Ottos. I would take him back to the pet store and grasp what you paid for.
Answers: My local PetCo tried to tell me alike thing. Try bringing him back and voicing your complaints. Hopefully they'll take him wager on and you can get the otos you really wanted.
CAEs will eat algae when they're childish, but they really prefer meatier food. They also get quite large, up to 11 inches, although they across the world stay smaller in fish tanks. CAEs will harass and sometimes even destroy tankmates when they mature, and they also have a tendency to latch on to the sides of other fish and suck on their slime coat, which is highly harmful. They're also highly territorial, and will fight whether there's more than one in the tank. They'll also chase other fish out of the territory.
They *are* interesting fish, but they're in recent times not good for the average community aquarium.
