I work at an organization building that have a coy pond. Now that it's cold some are hardly moving. What do I do?

The property manager speaks little english and I don't think he sees any abandon. Some coy fish have strange tumors on them. I know that they are not properly taken care of. I don't know who to call. I am concerned because immediately that is is cold (I live in Sacramento so it's not SUPER cold) the fish are barely moving!
this is the theory bringing up the rear koi being able to live 200 years i think.

whether the top of the water freezes over drill big holes in it or cut out a big peice but dont' BREAK it or make it collapse. whether it's shallow like i assume it is it's probably not going to have much room for ice. it must not freeze completely or the fish will die. whether the pond is 3 feet under ground it should naturally stay stove than rock hard freezing temperatures at all times! whether not you may need a heater. I doubt you'll find a heater that heat the water to anything less than 68 unless you get some POS indefinate one which is dicey because you can boil your fish. remember also that fluctuation to high temperatures is bad for these guys.

anyhow i know they're going to drink less than normal but you should research exactly how much smaller quantity they eat. i remember someone saying he drilled holes to feed his dojo loaches through.

too much food and you snake up with molding food and foul water.

try looking in koi forums for specific information on koi and their hybernation faze.
In winter time the Koi will become fairly sedentary and budge to the bottom of the pond, almost hibernation. They need a pond at least 3ft insightful ideally to feel safe.

As for the lumps, these could be a few things including abscesses from injury. Find someone surrounded by the building who does know who either installed the pond or maintains it, there's if the executive speaks little english, find someone who does speak english, or can translate and explain your concerns. The lack of energy is normal within the cold, they will barely eat, the lumps are not.
They will be fine, i have a coy pond and they do it during the winter. mines outsides and oddly i Had 10 koi and all of them survived even when it snowed 2ft ( i live within ohio). they will be fine.
Koi are cold sea fish, and can survive the winter outdoors as long as the pond is at least three feet deep. Mine survive every winter and I live surrounded by Virginia where the water ices over.

When the temperature drops, the fish's metabolism slows down. Do not nurture them at this time. Any food eaten will rot in their stomachs because they will be unable to digest.

Sometimes fish given the best supervision will develop tumors. They can be caused by a number of things.
phone up a doctor, and get a heater to warm the river
those fish are sick, and they need to be cared for
That's ordinary the Koi will slow down their body's and they will hibernate they wont eat any food either so don't try to feed them the food will purely rot in the water and it will make ammonia.
Well, Koy can stay surrounded by the pond all year. They sort of hibernate at the bottom. They will be fine. Don't take them out. They are supposed to stay out in the winter.
I had a Koi pond and it was really cold and the fish will hibernate when it's cold and they'll be fine when it warms up. That's why they are by a hair`s breadth swimming. Not sure who to call but you might try a pet store and they can give you some suggestion. Good Luck
Wait for summer.

In the cold weather the Koi will go into a semi-hibernation, they wont swim or munch through much if the water is below about 50F. Dont try and nurture them below that temp or the uneaten food will pollute the water, or if they do eat, it can rot within their stomach.

When the water warms up they will come back to vivacity.

They can survive under Ice as long as the pond is deep enough.

Just how shy is the coy pond? Does it hide away in the corner of the garden for misgivings of being seen? Or could it be a mis-spelling of Koi, as in fish?
Answers:    Sorry in that is nothing right now you need or should do. They inevitability to hibernate. NO food nothing. Let ice over and deal next to everything in the spring. SOrry any disease will and can wait until spring. Since most fungus and parasites won't grow or affect a fish until the marine warms, hate to say not inattention just taking care of the fish.

LET THEM BE until spring. Learn how to care for Koi in the past you call anyone or you will end up looking like the idiot. Sacramento still gets chilly and yes the fish are fine. They are barely moving due to hibernation. Let them be.
You can probably telephone animal control or a local pet/aquarium shop and see if they can tell you anything more about it. Maybe they can come by and check out the situation.
You do nil, koi fish are cold water fish, and are bred to live in it. I know it isn't that cold in Sacramento i winter I tight-fisted what air temp of 45. Kois will go deeper I live in NE Ohio and my pond fish hold survived many winters now. So just tolerate them alone.
Aquarium feathery bulbs?   What do I nurture aboriginal anemones within a local sailing container beside and how habitually ?   My fish is not unconscious but it have a filmy entity on it and its gone side is manner of paralyzed(gourmie)?   Our goldfish's scales are blistering stale her body...is she dying?
